This lovely lad is Bentley, a 10 year old westie cross who initially came into us 7 years ago, he was adopted by a wonderful guy and Bentley was his absolute world, very sadly he passed away recently so Bentley has come back into us for rehoming.He's a really happy little chap and very loving with his people, he's protective in the home and will bark and growl at visitors, if they meet him outside and come in with him he's absolutely fine but would ideally need someone confident in dealing with this, or with low visits to the home!Bentley out and about is hit and miss with dogs, he will ignore most but sometimes barks at them, he definitely will want to be an only dog in the home.He's very much a cuddly boy in the home, he loves a belly rub and to sit with his fosters while they work.We wouldn't home him with any young. Kids, ideally Bentley needs an adult only home where he will be someone else's world againHe is a little chunky so needs to lose a tiny bit of weight, he loves his walks!Bentley is neutered, chipped and has restarted his vaccines.His adoption donation would be £120 applications to our website please

Milan is a 3-year-old crossbreed from Romania, weighing around 21kg. This medium-sized boy has been through a lot, but his gentle spirit and heart warming “smile” shine through.He can be a little sensitive and nervous when meeting new people or facing unfamiliar situations. However, once he learns to trust you, Milan becomes incredibly affectionate and loves spending time with his humans. He has a playful side too—he enjoys toys, games, and walks beautifully on a lead.Milan gets along well with other dogs and, with careful introductions, could happily live with a canine companion. He has met a cat before and showed little interest until it ran—then the chase instinct kicked in—so a cat-free home (or one with a very dog-savvy cat) would be best.It’s unlikely Milan has lived in a home before, so he may need support with toilet training and settling into domestic life. Due to his initial wariness, he would be best suited to a calm home with no children or older, dog-aware children.Despite everything he’s been through, Milan is a happy, loving soul. Mojito is a really sweet girl who is looking for a patient and understanding home where she can continue to grow in confidence and enjoy everything life has to offer.She can be a little shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar situations, so she will need plenty of time, space and reassurance to help her settle into her new home. Once she begins to trust you, her lovely personality starts to shine through, and with the right support she is becoming more confident every day.Mojito will need to live with a calm, confident dog already in the home. This is essential for her, as she takes great comfort from other dogs and will look to them for reassurance. A canine companion will help her navigate new experiences and encourage her to become more confident in her surroundings.She will need owners who are committed to helping her with her ongoing training, including house training, lead walking and socialisation. Positive, reward-based training and plenty of patience will help her develop into a happy, well-rounded dog.Due to her gentle nature, Mojito would be best suited to a quieter home where she won’t feel overwhelmed. Roo is a handsome 9-year-old crossbreed who came to Islay Dog Rescue from a kill shelter in Macedonia. Despite the hardships he has endured, Roo has remained the perfect gentleman, with a trusting, gentle, and loving nature.Roo enjoys his walks and is a pleasure to take out, walking beautifully on the lead and showing no reactivity towards other dogs, cars, or livestock. His calm and easy-going temperament makes him wonderful company wherever he goes.He loves his ham and chicken treats, always taking them politely, and his eagerness to please will make training a rewarding experience. Roo is a clever boy who responds well to positive reinforcement.Roo gets on well with other dogs and could happily live with a resident canine companion following careful introductions. Although he hasn't met children since arriving at Islay, we believe his gentle nature means he could live with respectful, dog-savvy children aged 12 and over.Roo has not yet been cat tested, but this can be arranged if required.As with many of our rescue dogs, we don't know whether Roo has ever lived in a home or is house-trained. His new family will need to be patient and committed to helping him learn his house manners using kind, positive training methods. Given his calm nature and love of treats, we're confident he'll enjoy learning alongside his new family.Although Roo is a senior boy, he still has plenty of life, love, and companionship to offer. He deserves a family who will see beyond his age and give him the happy retirement he's waited so long for. In return, we're certain Roo will reward them with endless loyalty, affection, and unconditional love.He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites and neutered.
