BreedLurcher x Saluki

Hi, I’m Ace! I’m about 2 years old and I've not been lucky enough to live in a home yet. I came here in February and I'm loving my indoor heated kennel with nice blankets! I absolutely love other dogs and I like people but I'm just a bit shy. I’d be more than happy to live with another dog or without, I'm not fussy but I did used to chase rabbits for a living so I might do the same with a cat in the house.I’m learning to walk on a lead and come back when I'm called. I'm loving my new raw food as I was a bit hungry. I’m looking for a home that is easy going as I like a calm life but I do also like to play with other dogs. If you’re after a gentle soul that would probably end up sleeping on the sofa in the sunshine then I'm your man! Love,Ace

Are you right for Bertie?Bertie is a bright, enthusiastic young dog whose zest for life makes him a wonderful match for a moderate to active home. He would thrive with people who enjoy walking, enrichment activities, and ongoing training, and once he settles, he can be wonderfully calm and affectionate. He gets especially excited when he sees other dogs, so a home that can offer both fun and structure will help him shine. As a large, lively youngster, Bertie absolutely loves people. Because he can be a bit exuberant when excited, he’ll do best in a household with secondary‑school‑aged children, though confident, dog‑savvy younger children may also be suitable depending on experience and management. He’ll benefit from having a private, secure garden to play and relax in, as well as access to quieter walking areas where he won’t meet too many dogs. His new family should be happy to continue his training, especially around dog‑dog greetings and helping him manage his excitement.Bertie is looking for a home where he can enjoy being the only dog and receive all the love and attention he deserves.

Chance, a 6 years old male Labrador available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Chance

Berkshire
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedLabrador

(33kg)Lovely, kind Chance has been surrendered into rescue due to the ill health of his elderly owner. Chance is a sweet natured boy who likes everyone, and given his obvious Labrador genes, he also likes his food and may have been over-indulged or at least under-exercised lately! Surprisingly, we have been told that he likes to be on his own to eat and allegedly will be inclined to decline his food if there are other dogs around or if he is being watched! So perhaps there is a sensitive side to this gorgeous boy!Chance has not lived with children, so we would not wish to place him with youngsters under 10 years, although he is friendly with children when he meets them. He has not lived with cats or small pets. He has not lived with other dogs but has been good with them while in rescue, although he is worried by very boisterous dogs.Chance loves his walks and has very nice manners. He is an easy-going dog who responds very well to affection and praise, and very very well to treats and rewards! He has been used to company most of the time.

Charly, a 2 years old male Labrador available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Charly

Berkshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedLabrador

(26kg) Handsome young Charly was handed in to a dog pound as a stray and never reclaimed. He is quite a large, strong dog but is also a total softy who loves to be cuddled and loves belly rubs. He just wants to be loved! He is just a youngster, and as with any dog that has become unwanted at such an early age, he is likely to have missed out on early training so will need an owner who is willing and able to help him to catch up. He loves to learn and is eager to please for praise and treats, so training will help build a loving bond between him and his adopter.Charly has no long term history, so we would not wish to place him with children under 10 years. He is unknown with cats or small pets. He is not known with other dogs, although he has been very sociable with other dogs while in rescue, and this will need to be maintained by careful integration with other nice-natured dogs, and dog training classes are the ideal way to achieve safe introduction in a controlled environment. Many dogs in rescue can behave in a reactive manner towards other dogs, but after all, they have been through a traumatic time and also may not feel confident in new situations, and also may feel they need to defend their new owner. Training and empathic handling will help ensure a happy situation.Charly is a young and active dog who will need lots of walks and lots of fun, so he is looking for an active and enthusiastic owner. He will need company most of the time.

(9kg) Because cute little Donny was handed into a dog pound as a stray, we don't know much about him - but we do know that he is a super friendly, super fun little chap whose tail just never stops wagging - he is full of joy and full of energy! He really is just a puppy and his adopter will need to be ready to teach him lots of things, as it is unlikely that whoever discarded this little darling at such a young age will have put much time and effort into his training. So dog training classes will be absolutely essential straight away, as well as general dog life skills training. His adopter will need to have the time and energy to help Donny to catch up with his education, as well as time to spare for lots of fun and games as this is a really happy and playful youngster!Donny has no long term history so we would not wish to place him with children under 10 years. We do not know if he has been with cats or small pets, but he is a terrier cross so is likely to chase. He has been good with other dogs while in rescue although extremely playful. He’s seeking a committed, positive home that enjoys training and is ready to help him continue developing his loose‑lead walking, greeting manners, focus and calmness.Hugo will need to be the only dog in his new home.
