Hi, I’m Ace! I’m about 2 years old and I've not been lucky enough to live in a home yet. I came here in February and I'm loving my indoor heated kennel with nice blankets! I absolutely love other dogs and I like people but I'm just a bit shy. I’d be more than happy to live with another dog or without, I'm not fussy but I did used to chase rabbits for a living so I might do the same with a cat in the house.I’m learning to walk on a lead and come back when I'm called. I'm loving my new raw food as I was a bit hungry. I’m looking for a home that is easy going as I like a calm life but I do also like to play with other dogs. If you’re after a gentle soul that would probably end up sleeping on the sofa in the sunshine then I'm your man! Love,Ace

Cash

Berkshire
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Are you right for Cash?Cash is searching for his forever home with his beloved best friend, Penny. These two share a wonderful bond and are looking for a family who can welcome them both with open arms.Cash is a gentle, sensitive soul who truly flourishes in a calm, peaceful household with steady, predictable routines. A quieter environment helps him feel secure, and he will thrive in a home where life moves at a relaxed pace.A private garden will give Cash and Penny a safe, comfortable space to enjoy together.Cash would be happiest in an adult-only home or one with calm, dog‑savvy older teenagers who understand canine body language and can give him the space he needs. With people who respect his boundaries, Cash builds trust beautifully and forms deep, lasting bonds. He will benefit from living with patient, understanding owners who can recognise when he needs a little breathing room, especially during handling. With gentle guidance and support, Cash can continue to grow in confidence. Because he can be unsure around unfamiliar visitors, a home willing to follow simple visitor‑management advice will help him feel safe and settled. Most importantly, Cash must stay with Penny—they are deeply bonded and have even raised puppies together. Their companionship brings out the best in each other, and they’re looking forward to starting their next chapter side by side.Is Cash right for you?Cash is a charming five‑year‑old Jack Russell Terrier, Chihuahua cross who is currently staying with us through our Homestay Scheme. He and his best friend, Penny, are looking for a new home together due to their owners’ poor health.Cash is a sweet, sensitive boy who forms wonderfully strong bonds once he feels secure. While he may initially be a little unsure around new people—particularly men—and can be cautious with handling, he shows his affectionate nature beautifully once trust has been established. With those he knows, Cash is loving, gentle, and enjoys fuss and even bum scratches. Having Penny by his side gives him an extra boost of confidence, and their companionship is something truly special.Cash has not had much experience being left alone in his previous home. In the centre, he has managed short periods independently, so adopters should begin with very minimal time left and build this up gradually with guidance and support.Although his previous owner noted he could be vocal in the car, Cash travelled quietly during his assessment when secured with a harness. This may have been due to feeling unsure, so gentle, positive car‑training will help him grow more confident with journeys over time.Overall, Cash is a loving, loyal little dog who just needs patience, reassurance, and a peaceful environment to truly shine—especially with his best friend Penny beside him.

Are you right for Coco?Coco will thrive in a calm, predictable home, ideally in a quieter or more rural area. She enjoys relaxed, structured exercise and benefits from opportunities to decompress, helping her feel settled and secure. She could potentially live with primary school-aged children, pending successful meets at the centre.Coco is looking for a physically strong, confident handler who is committed to continuing her training and building her confidence on walks, particularly around other dogs. A private garden or access to quiet outdoor spaces would be ideal, along with limited leaving hours to support her wellbeing.Coco needs to be the only pet in the home. Coco is fully housetrained. She has previously coped well with being left for long periods without any destructive behaviour or vocalising. In her future home, shorter leaving hours or some flexibility around time alone would help her feel even more secure and settled.Coco travels well in the car and is happiest settled on the back seat, where she often relaxes or sleeps throughout the journey.

(13kg)Cute young Corrie was handed into a dog pound as a stray but was never reclaimed and has now come to DBARC to find a permanent loving home. She is a sweet and very intelligent little girl as well as being a very fun and active dog who will suit someone who enjoys a bright and energetic companion, and would ideally enjoy a dog activity such as Flyball or Agility, or learning lots of fun tricks. As with most collie types, she will need to exercise her brain as well as her body! As we have no long term history for Corrie, we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years. She is unknown with cats or small pets, and although we do not know if she has lived with other dogs, we do know that she has been friendly and playful with dogs in the rescue environment and this will need to be maintained by her adopter allowing careful introduction to safe and well mannered dogs.Corrie would benefit from and greatly enjoy dog training classes and this gives the chance to meet other dogs in a controlled situation as well as a chance for her to learn fun stuff. Hugo currently lives with older children and interacts with them respectfully. is a beautiful dog who was surrendered for rehoming by his former owners along with another dog because they did not have a secure garden and were not able to prevent the dogs from straying. Jasper had been in the same home since he was a young puppy so whilst this must have been a huge change for him, he has such a lovely nature and just likes people, so does not seem traumatised in any way! He is a really special boy, with a calm and loving personality. Jasper is a joy to be around.Jasper has been used to living with children in his previous home, so we would be happy to rehome him with children who are used to dog and old enough to repect their needs and their space. He has not lived with cats. He has been used to living with a nother dog, and is aslso good when meeting new canine pals! Jasper loves his walks and is an easy-going dog who loves as run but is also calm and sensible. He has been used to being with another dog, so will need company most of the time.

Marley, a 1 year old male Collie available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Marley

Berkshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedCollie

is a lovely affectionate boy but gets very excited about life. He is possessive over toys and food with other dogs but not people. The previous owners took him off an older couple about a month ago with the hopes he could be a yard dog but he is not so good with horses so sadly the home did not work. He sits, lies down, paw etc. is good with other dogs off the lead. He plays nicely, plays with our other dog and other dogs we have met, good with kids, I have nieces and nephews from 2-16 and he is good with all of them. He loves belly scratches and bones to chew.Marley's looking for a home where he will get lots of both mental and physical exercise - he's definitely not a couch potato of a dog! He would excel in a doggie sport such as Agility/Flyball etc. He can be a little possessive over his food and toys with other dogs (not people) so is probably best homed as an only dog. A lovely active boy looking for a lovely, active home.

Milo, a 6 years old male Collie x Labrador available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Milo

Berkshire
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedCollie x Labrador

was adopted from us 3 years ago, but has very sadly had to come back to us because the only person in the family able to walk him is ill and unable to do so. Milo has doubled in weight since he left as he has not been having the exercise. He is now on a strict doggie diet and exercise regime to get him back in shape. The family who adopted him say he is a very barky dog and reacts to many things in the home like the TV, birds, doorbell etc. We feel this may be partly due to frustration from not getting the physical and mental exercise he needs and being in a busy home - so his new family will need to understand this and be willing and able to help him. In the home he has been a very loving dog who enjoys cuddles and has been good with children. He is not happy in the kennel environment so we hope he can find a family who will offer him his true forever home very soon.
