German Shepherd Rescue Elite was established to support unwanted, abandoned, and neglected German Shepherds, while also educating the public about the responsibilities of owning large working-breed dogs. The charity focuses not only on rescue and rehoming, but on prevention—offering advice and guidance to help reduce the number of dogs entering rescue in the future. GSRE works tirelessly to ensure dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered, with dedicated follow-up support where needed. Supported by a passionate volunteer network, the charity also assists Belgian Shepherd Malinois and Dutch Shepherds, breeds whose complex needs are often misunderstood. As a full member of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) and the EU Dog and Cat Alliance, GSRE is committed to collaboration and the highest standards of animal welfare.

The Last Chance Hotel is an all-animal rescue charity founded in 2011 and based in Cornwall, dedicated to helping domestic animals in need. Over the years, the charity has rescued hundreds of dogs and other pets from council pounds, welfare cases, and private surrenders, with some animals remaining in lifelong foster homes when rehoming is not suitable. While its sanctuary work concluded in 2024 due to rising costs, The Last Chance Hotel continues its domestic rescue efforts through a network of foster homes across Cornwall and beyond. Run entirely by unpaid volunteers, the charity focuses on rehabilitation, careful home checks, and ongoing support to ensure animals are placed into safe, loving homes across the South West and further afield.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), founded in 1824, is the oldest and largest animal welfare organisation in the world, operating across England and Wales. Funded primarily by voluntary donations, the charity rescues animals from cruelty, investigates neglect and organised animal crime, and provides advice to improve animal welfare. Its network includes rescue teams, animal hospitals, rehabilitation centres and over 150 locally run branches that support rehoming, neutering and community welfare services. Through national and international outreach, the RSPCA works to prevent cruelty and ensure animals receive the care and protection they deserve.

St Francis Dogs Home is a dog rescue and rehoming centre dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for dogs and puppies in need. Founded in 1955 by Nancy Bates and fellow animal welfare supporters, the charity was established to prevent unwanted and stray dogs from being euthanised when rehoming was possible. Operating as a charitable trust since 1961, St Francis Dogs Home has focused exclusively on dog rescue since 1999 and now rehomes up to 200 dogs each year. Supported by donations, legacies, and volunteers, the centre provides care, stability, and compassion for every dog until a suitable forever home is found.

Underdog International was founded in 2019 by Nadine Kayser following her work co-founding the Wild at Heart Foundation in 2015. After helping drive large-scale adoption, neutering, and education programmes worldwide, Nadine shifted her focus toward fostering compassion through child-led engagement with animals. Underdog International was created on the principle of “children helping dogs, dogs helping children,” combining animal welfare with youth development and education. The charity aims to create lasting change by nurturing empathy, responsibility, and kindness in the next generation while improving the lives of vulnerable dogs.
