Hello, I’m Aussie, and everything around me still feels very new. I’m only young and haven’t had many opportunities to experience the world, so I’m taking things one step at a time while I learn that new people, places and experiences can be safe.Right now, I find a lot of comfort in being around my siblings and puppy friends. They’ve helped me build a little confidence, and I’m slowly starting to come out of my shell. I’ve especially enjoyed spending time outside in the sunshine, and I’m beginning to discover how much fun toys can be when I have other puppies to play alongside.I’ve recently met an adult dog that I hadn’t known before. Although I was a little nervous at first, I was curious and wanted to say hello. Because of this, I think I’d really benefit from living with a calm, friendly dog who can show me the ropes. My new canine companion would need to be patient and let me approach at my own pace, rather than expecting me to be confident straight away.Walking on a lead is completely new to me, so I’m just getting used to wearing a harness before I begin exploring the outside world. There’s still lots for me to learn, but I’m making gentle progress every day.My ideal home will be peaceful, patient and understanding. Moving into a new environment is going to be a big change for me, so I’ll need plenty of time, space and reassurance while I settle in. With kindness, consistency and lots of gentle encouragement, I’m sure I’ll grow into a wonderful companion.*PLEASE NOTE – we are currently looking through application forms that are already on file. Potential adopters will be contacted shortly*

Introducing our brilliant Basil the 4 year old Lurcher, who arrived with us as a stray. This poor boy unfortunately is now looking for a new place to call home.We have enjoyed getting to know dear Basil, and we have found him to love being around his carers, so we feel he would be happiest having someone in the home a good part of the day. Basil is a playful chap and likes to play with his toys, but is equally happy having a nice cuddle.Basil has a big heart and is eagerly awaiting his new family, so that he can show them just how amazing he is. Basil would love nothing more than to have a comfy sofa so that he can stretch out on.It would be beneficial for Basil to attend training classes with his new owners, and to also have regular canine pals to walk with to continue his social skills.Basil will be looking to be the only pet in the home, but we feel he could possibly live with teenagers. Basil really does have a lot to give back to his new family and he has seen many of his canine friends go on to find loving new homes, so we can't wait to find this boy his happy ever after after being with us for over a year and we just can't understand why.

Apply to rehome me Bella Lurcher / Black and White Female 1 years, 1 months My reference is [DO23977-Dog] About me Hello everyone my name is Bella. I am a very pretty 1 year old Lurcher. I am looking for an active home with new owners that understand my breed type. I am a very sweet girl that loves everyone, I can however be quite bouncy and some-times forget how big I am. I walk really nicely on lead after a bit of an excited start. Sadly I have not been socialised much so I will need to learn some manners around other dogs, I can get a bit over excited. I do currently struggle to be left on my own so will need some-one that is prepared to help me with this. Children 10 years plus due to my size and the fact that I am bouncy. I May be able to live with another dog that could match my energy levels. No cats or small furries. Back to Dogs Looking for HomesAbout me Hello everyone my name is Bella. Introducing Belle who is a 6 year old Lurcher and her best friend Ernie, a 9 year old Labrador. Belle and Ernie arrived with us due to their previous owners change in circumstances.Since arriving at the centre, we noticed that Ernie had a chronic ear infection, which has now been treated and he is feeling much better for it, but his new owners will need to be happy to keep up with regular ear cleaning to prevent issues again.Belle and Ernie are very close, and Belle will often look to Ernie for reassurance when she gets worried in new situations as we have found her to be shy until she gets to know you. Charley, a 9 years old female Lurcher available for adoption from Forever Hounds Trust in Devon

Charley

Devon
SexFemale
Age9 years
BreedLurcher

Charley is a sweet, small-medium sized lurcher girl. She’s 9 years old and is looking for a new home due to a change in circumstances in her current home, where she is a much-loved member of the family. Charley is a loving dog who bonds deeply with her family, and is very intelligent. She loves walking and playing with her tennis ball, and despite her age needs plenty of exercise – but she is also a typical couch potato lurcher, as long as her exercise needs are being met. Charley is very friendly with women and although she needs a more gradual introduction to new men, it usually doesn’t take long to gain her trust. She is housetrained, well-behaved at home and can be left alone for a few hours. She travels well in the car, but can occasionally get sick on very long journeys. Charlie is nervous of other dogs; whilst she can make friends with proper introductions, she can be defensive on walks if another dog enters her personal space. She is not severely reactive or difficult to manage, and tends to ignore dogs unless they get too close, but her adopter must be willing to support her and understand that there are some situations she finds challenging. She would prefer to be the only dog in her new home. Charlie would love to live in a quiet rural or semi-rural area, with a garden to play and relax in and plenty of love and attention from her new family.Would prefer to be the only dog. May be able to live with teenagers, but would prefer a quiet, calm environment. Would prefer a rural or semi-rural home. Is still active for a 9 year old! Needs access to walking areas without too many other dogs (especially loose dogs). Can be left alone for around 4-6 hours, but this must be built up gradually in a new home.

Please read my profile below to find out more.Chewy is a sweet, affectionate little Chihuahua cross with a big personality and plenty of love to give.At 7 years old, Chewy is the perfect mix of fun, character and companionship. He loves spending time with people, enjoys a fuss, and has a playful side that is guaranteed to make you smile. Whether he is playing with his favourite soft and squeaky toys, pottering in the garden, or heading out for a walk, Chewy likes to be involved in daily life.Chewy may be small, but he still enjoys getting out and about. He would love a home where he can have regular walks, enrichment and gentle training to keep his clever little mind busy. He has more energy than you might expect from a little older chap, so he would suit adopters who enjoy being active but can also offer him calm time to settle and relax.Chewy is generally a friendly boy with people. He may have a little bark when someone first arrives or approaches, but once he has had a moment to work things out, he is usually keen to say hello and enjoy some attention. He has experience of visiting children and could live with sensible children who understand how to give him space when he needs it.Chewy has had positive experiences with other dogs, including a familiar visiting small dog, and could potentially live with a calm, confident and sociable dog following successful introductions. He can sometimes feel overwhelmed by unfamiliar dogs, especially in busy areas or if off-lead dogs rush up to him. Because of this, he would be happiest with adopters who can support him on quieter, more predictable walks and help him build confidence at his own pace.Chewy is housetrained and has settled well in his foster home. He enjoys company and likes to be near his people, but has previously been left for short periods. His time alone should be built up gradually in his new home while he gets used to his new routine.Chewy can be a little unsure walking in the dark and may prefer to stay close to home for night-time toilet trips. He has also shown an interest in chasing livestock, so he will need to stay on lead in unsecured areas and around wildlife or farm animals.Chewy is looking for a loving home where he can enjoy gentle adventures, cosy companionship and continued confidence-building. In return, he will bring lots of affection, charm and little-dog sparkle.

More Information

Adopting a rescue dog in Devon suits a wide range of households, from rural homes to coastal communities and busier towns. Dogs available for adoption are often matched with adopters who can offer a balance of companionship, exercise and stability. Devon-based rescues frequently work across large geographic areas, meaning some dogs may come from neighbouring counties as well. Adoption decisions focus on finding the right environment for each dog, rather than restricting placements by distance alone.
