Please read my profile below to find out more.Meet Barnaby and Kenny! This adorable duo are looking for their new home together. Barnaby loves to play and enjoys a good game of tug whilst Kenny prefers human affection. Both dogs love a calm home environment and have a lot of love to offer.Since being together from puppies, these boys have a strong bond and can often be found resting near each other. They would benefit from being the only dogs in the home but could have social doggy friends to spend time or go on walks with. They would like a home without cats due to their desires to chase. They are looking for a quieter home with plenty of space for them to play, explore and rest. Barnaby can be sensitive to loud noises and unpredictable sounds. He will need a calm steady home environment. They would like a home with older teenage children or an adult only home for the time being.Due to his size Barnaby will need to be walked by someone physically capable of managing him. Flat faced (brachycephalic) dogs suffer from additional health problems, which may impact their quality of life. We always recommend anyone thinking about adopting or buying a flat faced (brachycephalic) dog to thoroughly research the breed beforehand. Our expert team will be able to give you tips on exercise and weight management and advice on any support Barnaby may need.

Bentley, a 1 year old male Lurcher available for adoption from RSPCA in Suffolk

RSPCA

Bentley

Suffolk
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedLurcher

Bentley came into our care after he was transferred to us from another centre. We sadly do not know much about his past life before arriving into our care, but since being with us he has shown to be an affectionate, playful boy who loves being in the company of his favourite humans and zooming around our field with his toys.He is a clever boy in his adolescent era so will also benefit from an active home that can provide him with the physical and mental stimulation he needs, alongside some further basic training to guide him in becoming a well mannered, confident dog. He has shown that he can get overwhelmed at times so needs owners who are willing to take things at his pace and be patient with him. This poor boy hasn’t had a good start in life, having spent half of his short life in kennels already. This has taken a big toll of his separation related anxiety and is therefore looking for a home that has at least one family member at home all the time, who can gradually teach him its okay to be left for short periods. He can sometimes lack manners around other dogs so will benefit from a home that can provide further socialising once he has settled into his new home. For this reason we feel he is better suited to be the only dog in the home, as well as his want to have all the attention to himself!Bentley is always happy to see you and will greet you with a full body and tail wag. He will make a great addition to the home and will provide you loyalty, fun and affection in return.Do you have space in your life for this wonderful boy?

Charlie, a 1 year old male Labrador available for adoption from RSPCA in Suffolk

RSPCA

Charlie

Suffolk
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedLabrador

At just 1 years old, this handsome boy has already been on a long journey. Over the past 9 months he has been working through his rehabilitation training, learning how to feel safe and confident in the world around him.Kennel life proved too stressful for him, but for the last 5 months he has been thriving in a foster home, where he’s finally be able to relax and his true personality start to shine. With people he trusts he is incredibly affectionate, playful and full of love. Like any Labrador, food is the way to his heart and he enjoys his positively reinforced training and he will often greet you with a big waggy body and his favourite dinosaur to mouth. He is now looking for a “foster in view to adopt” home that can continue supporting him on this journey. He will need patient and knowledgeable owners committed to his ongoing training, particularly when in new environments and car travel. His new family will also need to have at least one person at home at all times to begin with, so he can gradually learn that being alone for short periods is ok.A home within 1.5hrs of the centre would be most ideal, due to how worried he is of car travel and so the RSPCA team can continue to support him once in the home too.Charlie may be able to live with another suitably matched dog, as long as they are neutered, fully vaccinated, calm and confident and is right for both dogs. He is such a sweet dog and deserves to find someone who can walk the rest of his journey with him.

Grace, a 14 years old female Unknown available for adoption from LIB Dog Rescue in Suffolk

LIB Dog Rescue

Grace

Suffolk
SexFemale
Age14 years
BreedUnknown

Grace waited 7-8 years in a Romanian shelter. She is a steady quiet girl, as yet the lights are not fully on but everything is very new & she has spent most of her life in a place with little interaction or stimulation. She is a bit shell shocked to be here in such a different environment. While we know she was an adult on entering the shelter all that time ago, we don’t think she is as old as the age shown on her passport. She really does deserve some time in a nice home. Grace came from the same shelter as lib dogs Finn & Fortune who were both there for a similar duration & both boys are living their best lives now, we would really love to be able to do the same for Grace. We can’t change their backstory but if we work together we can give them a happy ending. Please email libdogrescue@gmail.com & request an application form if you can give Grace her Happy ending.Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. You will need to agree to walk your dog in an appropriate slip lead or escape proof harness.

Hope

Suffolk
SexFemale
Age8 years
BreedUnknown

Hope it’s a sweet little girl but she is quite aloof & isn’t that keen on people in general, not nasty she just keeps her distance. She doesn’t mind me & follows me closely on our walks off her lead. She never seeks me out for attention though.Hope took a really time to habilitate as she was so very scared and shy. Originally from a shelter in Romania where she was placed with her mother after being rescued from Bals kill shelter. ( Hopes mother was a much friendlier dog and was rehomed soon after arriving in the UK )I love Hope, but I like dogs I can quietly be with that aren’t too needy, being nudged & pawed for attention doesn’t do it for me, although plenty of dogs here didn’t get that memo ; ) She & I have an understanding and we get along really wellIf you have some experience with rescued dogs & another dog that might show Hope the way I think she could transition to another home. She loathes being on the lead, so off lead walks with her new human would be important to her )Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. You will need to agree to walk your dog in an appropriate slip lead or escape proof harness.Serious inquiries please email libdogrescue@gmail.com

Jessy

Suffolk
SexFemale
Age8 years
BreedUnknown

Jessy ( we call her Jezabell, she likes to snuggle up large male dogs ) was extremely nervous in her shelter in Romania & for some time after arriving here. It took a while to lead train her & she initially hated to be touched. Now she walks beautifully, sits close to us and really enjoys a gentle fuss.Jessy is a very beautiful & dainty little dog, she is fast & is a possible flight risk, she does need a 6′ secure garden, an experienced, calm adopter & at least one other dog. Her adopter will need to be prepared to meet with us until Jessy relaxes around them. A gentle rehome transition would work best for our little fox dog.Jessy will be loyal and loving to her person, she is a sweet little girl and she really deserves a chance. If you think you could take her the last little step of her journey please get in touch.Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. You will need to agree to walk your dog in an appropriate slip lead or escape proof harness.
