Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen
A longer-backed Vendéen hound with a merry nature and surprising stamina.
The Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen, often called the GBGV, is a rough-coated French scent hound bred to hunt hare over long distances. Despite its shorter legs, it is athletic, outgoing, and full of character. Popular with Kennel Club exhibitors and increasingly seen in rescue, it thrives with owners who enjoy countryside walks and a dog with a mind of its own.
