Lhasa Apso

A confident watchdog in a small, glamorous package.

The Lhasa Apso is a small, long-haired breed originally bred as a sentinel in Tibetan monasteries. Despite its size, it has a big personality and a keen sense of awareness. These dogs are independent but can form strong bonds with their owners.

Please step forward if you are looking to get a lovely new canine pal for your dog!Lhaso Apso Alfie is only 2, and has missed out on proper training and socialisation. He is much loved by his owner but due to their ill health is bravely making the this decision in Alfie’s best interests. He is a proper sweetheart in the home, housetrained, can be left for reasonable periods, loves people and children. He adores the company of other dogs and has many doggy pals so we would love to find him a home with another resident dog or dogs. But here’s the rub… in his excitement and frustration in seeing unknown dogs he doesn’t know what to do with himself so that is very offputting when people with dogs first see him.We need any potential new owner to be able to take the time to meet him and carefully manage the introduction process with other dogs and have the commitment to further work on his training. We would like a home with a garden, other dog/s, no cats.Families with older, calm, dog savvy children also welcome to apply.Priority will be given to people already homechecked by us, but if you tick all the right boxes for Alfie and need a homecheck please send us an email to enquire about him.

BreedBoston Terrier X Lhasa Apso

Frank arrived from his owner due to a relationship breakdown.Frank is an independent wee soul and doesn’t like being grabbed or groomed, Frank required muzzling at the vets. He finds children too much and needs an adult only home. He enjoys a walk and walks fairly well on lead, his recall requires work. He’s a busy wee guy and needs mental stimulation and play, he does have the old luxating patella skip but it does not impact his mobility.Frank is not dependable around other dogs, so should be a solo dog and has never met a cat.Anyone interested in adopting Frank will likely have to visit a number of times to build trust.

I have more photos below, check out my video! Lhasa Apso x Mini Poodle Dog Friendly? Only dog in home Cat Friendly? No Cats Child Friendly? Children over 8 Neutered? No Location: Nottingham Our first reaction to seeing little Ralph was, of course, “He’s so fluffy!” What an adorable little ball of tumbleweed. Ralph is a lovely shaggy dog who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He is a cross between a Lhasa Apso and a Miniature Poodle, giving him the sturdy shape of a Lhasa Apso combined with the wonderfully wavy coat of a Poodle. Ralph would love a relaxed home environment. He currently lives with children aged eight and over, so a home with sensible older children could be an option. However, we get the feeling that Ralph would be happiest enjoying a quieter, simpler life. When out and about, Ralph is neutral around other dogs and generally prefers to keep himself to himself. After being bullied by a neighbour’s dog when he was younger, he tends to avoid canine company where possible. As he has never shared his indoor space with another dog, we feel he would be happiest as the only dog in the home. During his assessment, Ralph was quiet, relaxed and very sweet with us. He engaged gently throughout and showed some interest in the chickens, but nothing that caused any concern. He was crate-trained as a puppy and has since learned to settle himself nicely in the evenings. Sadly, Ralph’s current owner is finding it difficult to balance work, family life and Ralph’s needs. With his best interests at heart, she has made the difficult decision to find him a new home where he can receive all the love, time and attention he deserves.
