Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen

A small, merry Vendéen hound with a big voice and an even bigger personality.

The Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, or PBGV, is the smallest of the Vendéen griffons. Bred to hunt hare in dense cover, it is compact, rough-coated, and endlessly curious. Despite its size it is a proper working hound — outgoing, vocal, and energetic — and it does best with families who enjoy daily adventures rather than a quiet lapdog.
