Bella & Gizmo, a 11 years old female Shih Tzu available for adoption from Celandine Wood in Wales

Bella & Gizmo

Wales
SexFemale
Age11 years
BreedShih Tzu

Meet Bella & Gizmo, a bonded pair of 11 year old Shih Tzus looking for a loving home together These two came into our care when their owner was no longer able to care for them, and they’re now ready for a fresh start side by side. Bella is your classic couch lover. She enjoys a warm spot to snooze, a little potter in a secure garden, and plenty of time to relax. Walks are very much on her terms, once she’s had enough, she’s done. She loves a good sniff and a slow pace and she’ll happily supervise everything from the comfort of a cosy corner. Gizmo, on the other hand is full of character. He is curious, more lively, and always wants to know where his person is. Once he’s chosen you, he’s completely devoted. He enjoys longer walks, loves meeting people and brings a bit of fun wherever he goes. They both travel well and settle nicely when left alone. Once Gizmo has really built up trust he is happy being handled and carried, whereas Bella prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. They are bonded and rely on each other for comfort, so we are looking for a home where they can stay together. If you’re looking for a pair that offers both calm companionship and two very different, but equally adorable personalities, Bella and Gizmo could be the perfect match. Bella is neutered and Gizmo will be neutered as soon as possible. They are both house trained but have had a few accidents in the home, this could be due to the recent change of circumstances. They have never been crated with their previous family and so due to their age we have continued with this in their foster home. They are not cat tested and could potentially live with older sensible children. Please get in touch if you think you could offer these lovely two the home they deserve

Captain Crumplefur, a 9 years old male Shih Tzu available for adoption from Gables Dogs & Cats Home in Devon

Gables Dogs & Cats Home

Captain Crumplefur

Devon
SexMale
Age9 years
BreedShih Tzu

Hi, I’m Captain Crumplefur… although I should warn you, that’s just the beginning. Around here I’ve already collected quite the collection of nicknames… Cap, Crump, Crumpie, even Crumplestiltskin if you’re feeling fancy. I’m clearly a very important gentleman to deserve so many titles.I’m a 10 year old Shih Tzu with a playful spirit and a lot of personality packed into a small, slightly crumpled package. I love people and I really enjoy a good fuss, but I do like things on my own terms. When I’m in the mood to play, I really go for it. Expect bouncing, zooming and a bit of gentle mouthing as part of the fun… it’s all part of my charm.I do very much enjoy my walks and like getting out and about to explore interesting new places. I’m very polite when meeting other dogs. I can be quite playful with them too, which keeps life interesting. I’m a clever boy too. I can sit, give both paws and lie down when asked, especially if there’s something tasty involved. Speaking of food, I’m polite with my meals, though I might hang on a little tighter to my very favourite treats. I’ve actually lived with 3 cats in my previous home, so I would be happy to consider sharing my home with a feline companion in the future. We would need to meet at a home check, just to make sure we can become friends. Now, I’ll be honest with you… I do have my boundaries. I’m not a fan of too much hands-on fuss when it comes to things like grooming or being checked over, and I’ve been known to tell people when I’ve had enough. I need someone who understands dogs like me and will take the time to work with me, not rush me. With the right person who has experience with owning dogs with handling sensitivities in the past, I know I can feel much more comfortable.Due to my behaviour around handling, and the fact that I am absolutely not prepared to share my favourite toys while I am playing with them, I’m looking for an adult-only home with someone experienced, patient and willing to understand me for who I am. In return, you’ll get a funny, affectionate, slightly cheeky companion who will keep you smiling every single day. I’ll need to stay on the lead in public places, but you can always use longer leads to give me more freedom and I’ll need some outside space attached to the house that is secure (4ft minimum height) for me to stretch my legs in.If you’ve got room in your life for a little character with a big personality (and plenty of nicknames), I might just be your perfect match.

Hi, I’m Minnie – a tiny little dog with an enormous heart just waiting to be shared with the right family. I may be extra small in size, but I’ve got so much love to give once I feel safe and comfortable with you I can be quite nervous at first, so I’m looking for a very special, understanding home that will give me the time, patience, and gentle encouragement I need to build a strong bond and grow in confidence. Once I trust you, I’m a sweet and loving companion who just wants to be close to my favourite people.I’m naturally more drawn to women, so I would feel happiest in a female-only home where I can truly relax and feel secure. I’d also like to be the only pet in the home so I can enjoy all the love, attention, and cuddles to myself – I really deserve to be spoiled! I have lived around children before, but because I’m such a tiny girl, any children in the home will need to be calm, gentle, and understanding of my size and sensitive nature.I enjoy short, gentle walks where I can take my time exploring the world around me without feeling overwhelmed. After a little stroll, I’m more than happy to curl up somewhere cosy beside my favourite person.I can be left alone for up to 4 hours once settled, and I’d love a quiet home environment where I can continue to blossom at my own pace.If you have a kind heart, a gentle approach, and room on your sofa for a little dog who just wants to feel safe and loved, I could be your perfect match ️Key info: Small breed, Children 11+, Housetrained, Secure garden, Can be left alone for 4 hrs
