Tibetan Terrier

A cheerful and adaptable medium-sized companion.

Despite its name, the Tibetan Terrier is not a true terrier. It is a sturdy, medium-sized dog with a shaggy coat and a kind temperament. Originally bred as a companion and watchdog in Tibetan monasteries, it is affectionate, playful, and intelligent.

Are you right for Coco?Coco and Pippin could live with sensible secondary school-aged children and above. They have had friendly sniffs with other dogs, however they can be avoidant and would be happiest as the only dogs in their new home, where they can enjoy all the attention for themselves. They are not suitable to live with other pets, as they are likely to bark at and chase them. Pippin can feel uncomfortable during veterinary examinations, so we advise that she is muzzled for vet visits. Potential adopters should be comfortable with this management and willing to continue supporting her with this training. In return, Coco and Pippin will make wonderful companions for a family looking for a loving, settled, and devoted pair of sisters. Is Coco right for you?Coco and Pippin are a gorgeous pair of 9-year-old Tibetan Terrier sisters looking for a home together. They have settled beautifully into their foster home and have been an absolute pleasure to care for. This affectionate duo love spending time together, whether that's snoozing side-by-side on the sofa or heading out for their daily walks. Both girls walk well on lead, enjoy exploring, and are always happy to jump in the car, travelling calmly and comfortably. Coco is especially friendly and enjoys meeting new people, while Pippin can be a little more reserved initially, but soon shows her sweet and gentle nature. They are a lovely pair and truly a dream to have around.

Gorgeous, sweet Lola arrived in our care through no fault of her own. 10 years old, this lovely Tibetan Terrier is absolutely adorable.Lola is a quiet girl, who is enjoying her peaceful foster home and would be best suited to a similar type of permanent home. We can consider homes with older children (over 12 years old) but we feel she would be happiest in an adult-only environment. She is happy to go for short walks but prefers to relax at home nand potter in the garden. Although she loves being around her people, she isn't a lapdog. This independent little lady likes fuss on her own terms but she likes to know that her family is nearby.Lola cannot live with cats but we feel she would be very happy if she could share her forever home with a four-legged friend of a similar size and temperament.Lola is in generally good health for a senior, however she takes medication for Hyperthyroidism. She has been prone to ear infections in the past and has a specific diet for potential food sensitivities. We'd love to find Lola the most amazing of retirement homes. If you think you might be able to offer her the happiest of lives, please register your interest below.
