Leicester, LeicestershireLeicester Animal Aid is an independent animal rescue charity dedicated to helping dogs and cats find happy, responsible homes. Each year, the charity cares for around 300 animals that are lost, abandoned, neglected, or relinquished, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation, and individual attention to ensure the right match for every pet. Alongside rescue and rehoming, Leicester Animal Aid offers long-term support to adopters and runs a Community Pet Support Scheme to help elderly, disabled, and housebound owners care for their pets. Founded in the 1950s by animal welfare pioneer Dorothea Farndon, the charity has grown into a professional, well-established centre while remaining committed to its original mission of compassion, positive care, and lifelong support for pets and people.
UKStrays Without Borders is a UK-registered non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming vulnerable dogs, with a primary focus on those in Macedonia where abandonment, abuse and road accidents are widespread. Working in partnership with trusted local rescues, the organisation ensures dogs receive care, socialisation and rehabilitation before travelling to the UK.
