Surrey’s commuter towns and access to countryside mean rescue dogs are often matched with working households and active adopters. Dogs adopted here may be suited to busy routines balanced with structured exercise and companionship. Many Surrey-based rescues focus on careful matching to ensure dogs can cope with time alone and daily schedules. Adopting locally supports long-term success for dogs and owners alike.

I am a "quality over quantity" kind of guy when it comes to friends. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, so I’ll need a bit of time to realise you’re one of the good ones. Once I trust you, though, you’ve got a friend for life! An adult only home or one with older teenagers would be best for me.My Passions: Tennis balls (I’m an expert!), carrying the biggest toys I can find on my walks, and sniffing out new trails. I can be a little strong on the lead at times so I need an owner with energy, who can hold me in my bouncy moments. My Social Style: I actually enjoy meeting other dogs out and about! However, I’m a bit of a "toy hogger" at home—I’d much prefer to live by myself so I don’t have to share my precious tennis ball collection. My Vibe: I’m more of a "quiet forest hike" dog than a "busy Saturday morning cafe" dog. Crowded places stress me out, so I’m looking for a home in a peaceful area. I would also like my own, private enclosed garden so I can play safelyMy Home life ideals - I would like someone at home with me most of the day while I settle in my new routine, the time I am left will need to be built up slowly. In my last home my owner was not able to take me out for a year so I will need a refresher in house training and I may need my confidence built with car travel too. My new family will need to have the time and patience to support me as I get used to my new home and the wider world. My new family will also need to have had experience of owning dogs that are a bit worried before.

Bear – Pearl Puppy, a 4 years old male Belgian Malinois available for adoption from German Shepherd Rescue Elite in Surrey

Bear – Pearl Puppy

Surrey
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedBelgian Malinois

This is Bear’s original write up:“Pearl was picked up as a stray in December and was heavily pregnant. No microchip and nobody to claim her, so we were asked if we could help. Pearl is quite nervous when meeting new people and we suspect she has had a good hiding at some stage, but once she realises you mean her no harm, she is a sweetheart. She likes her space from other dogs but no issues with them at all. Has totally ignored the horses in the field next door as well. On the 22nd December Pearl gave birth to 11 puppies, 4 boys and 7 girls. Sadly one little girl was not breathing and despite getting her started and suckling, she passed over Rainbow Bridge just over 24 hours later.Pearl is a GSD but not knowing what dad was we did a DNA sample on one of the girls which came back as: 56% GSD, 29% Belgian Mali, 7% Border Collie, and 6% Greyhound. The pups are all confident and tear around the place causing bedlam as you would expect. They do all like a snuggle though as well. The pups will need homes that have some experience of the main breed at least as they will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation as they get older. “Bear came back at 11 months old quite simply the person who adopted him failed to give him the training, socialisation and boundaries he needed, so whereas all the other pups are super with people and other dogs, Bear still mouths, still jumps up, reacts to anything that moves when out on lead….To say he has been let down is an understatement. Did his adopter take him regularly to training like she said she would? No! Did she contact anyone to say she was having issues? No! The first we know about it is when he is snapping at the children when they take things off him and suddenly he has to go immediately otherwise she has booked an appointment at the vets to murder him because a volunteer said it may take a couple of weeks to find him somewhere. We don’t always get the homes right and most certainly did not in this case, but Bear is now safely back where he was born and settled straight back in. He will learn some of the manners he missed out on from the older dogs but there is no malice in this gorgeous lad, purely he is behaving as a young male pup would not having been given the proper direction.Bear definitely deserves a special home now please!

Please note the photo in this profile is an AI generated image. We have a male crossbreed looking for a foster home, possibly with the right introduction may be able to live with fully vaccinated and neutered dog. He can be nervous of new people so may take a few introductions before he is comfortable. With positive introductons he could live with older secondary school age childrenHe will need someone based at home to start with to help him to become house trained and start the process of being able to be left, he will need access to a garden. He is active, energtic and full of fun. This young dog is highly intelligent and eager to please and excells at the weekly training classes he attends.Potential foster homes will need to live within an hour of our centre in Chobham, Surrey. When cruelty case dogs are removed by RSPCA Inspectors they come into our care at Millbrook for physical and mental rehabilitation. Court cases can sometimes take between 6 months and 2 years to conclude. At Millbrook, the dogs are often rehabilitated long before the conclusion of the court case. We prefer them to be out in foster homes as we feel this will offer them far more than we can always offer in a kennel environment. They are part of ongoing prosecution cases and so we would love them to have the comfort of a home environment while they wait for their day in court. We cover the costs of food, medication and veterinary treatments needed during fostering. You must be able to come back to the centre once a month for a health and vet check on a set day. They must wear their collar and ID tag at all times. All dogs will also need to stay on the lead in public at all times.Unfortunately some cases do not have the results we aim for as the courts decide the outcome. Fosterers must be prepared that there is no guarantee there will be a successful outcome and it may result in the dog being returned to the original owner or an associate of theirs. If the courts decide that the dog needs to be returned to an owner the fosterers must return the dog to Millbrook with immediate effect. If you do decide to foster a dog you will offer the dog the chance of love and comfort in a home environment for whatever length of time and this is of huge benefit to the dog. Please consider fostering carefully. If you think you could offer a foster a dog a home then please follow the link below to apply.https://volunteer.rspca.org.uk/opportunities/90393-dog-fosterer-do-2025-06-02

Hi there, my names Biscoff and I'm a real cheeky chap! I can get a little scared of quick hand movements but soon come out of my shell. I'm very nosey and get involved in eveything going on around me. If you love Terriers then your sure to love me! I also had a very bad start in life and need gentle introductions to new people, especially men.I'm looking for an active adult experienced terrier home where there is always lots going on, I need to stay on a long line because I love to go off investigating, once my super nose picks up a scent I'm off! A semi rural home would be best for me, as like my friend Buddy I do get scared by loud noises and traffic. I am super affectionate, love lots of cuddles and fuss and will make you laugh daily with my antics! My favourite trick is to distract you with some mischief and then slurp your cuppa! I will need a lovely secure garden with at least a 6ft fence with gravel boards. If you think im lovely complete a rehoming form.

Hello, my name is Buddy B and I have had a rather sad start in life which has left me extremely anxious in new situations and around new people, especially men. Once I know you I am the most loveable boy and would really like a lady owner I could share the sofa with for cuddles.I've been at HQ for several years now and my confidence has grown but I a still very wary of men. I enjoy the company of other dogs and could live with another well matched companion. My favourite hobby is sitting with you for cuddles and I'm more than happy to snuggle up on the sofa. All true terrier lovers will be smitten with me, my antics will make you smile! I currently have a strict routine and this has helped with my separation anxiety and I'm happy to chill in bed with a chew and I enjoy a good snooze in the morning and afternoon.I am very noise phobic, so would suit a very calm and quiet home in a semi rural area as I would not cope with a busy suburban park with lots of people. I love a good country walk and am used to a long line and will not be one that can be let off initially as I might get spooked, so need a secure field for any off lead running. I'm still a work in progress and any transition to a new home will need to be done gradually, please give me a chance, I have waited so long for the right mum to come along. I have glaucoma in one eye which is stable with my eye drops and I have to go for quarterly check ups. I'm very at the vets and having my daily drops. If you would like to give me a home please complete a rehoming form.

Meet Buster: An Energetic Soul Ready for His Next ChapterBuster is a resilient, affectionate boy who is looking for a fresh start. After a difficult past where his needs weren't met, he has spent time recovering and is now a happy, healthy lad ready to find a family who can keep up with his wagging tail and bright mind.Buster is the definition of "joie de vivre." He is an energetic, busy boy who thrives on activity and engagement. While he can be a little sensitive and nervous around new people—particularly men and younger children—his confidence is growing every day. Once he knows you, he is a loyal companion who truly loves being around people.Buster is looking for an experienced home familiar with the quirks and energy levels of "busy" breeds like Spaniels.Family: Best suited for a household with secondary school-aged children or adults only.Solo Star: Buster is friendly with dogs on walks but prefers his own space at home. He needs to be the only dog in the household. The Garden: A private, enclosed garden is a must. Since his recall is still a work in progress, he needs a secure space to zoom around and play safely off-lead.Buster is a "work in progress" with huge potential! He is looking for owners who enjoy the training process.Lead Work: He can be a bit of a "puller" when excited, but he’s a dream in open spaces where he can use his nose to explore.Relaxation: Because he gets very excited (especially by tennis balls!), he needs a family who can teach him the "off switch" and help him learn to play and settle calmly.Home Life: He was previously house-trained but may need a quick refresher. He prefers company and would like a home where someone is around most of the time, as he can get a bit anxious when left alone.Buster is feeling much better than when he first arrived, but his handsome coat needs upkeep.Grooming: He requires regular brushing of his ears and "feathers" to stay tangle-free.Confidence: He can be a little unsure during grooming, so a calm, patient hand is needed to keep building his trust.Travel: He is a fantastic traveller! He happily jumps in and out of the car, making him the perfect partner for road trip adventures.Buster's Note: "I’ve had a bumpy start, but I have so much love to give. If you have a tennis ball and a bit of patience, I promise to be the best friend you've ever had."
