24-03-26 Ocean is a very worried lady who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is extremely overwhelmed at the moment and needs patient, understanding adopters with ex-breeding experience, who can give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. She is currently too nervous to take treats and is worried by handling.Ocean gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies heavily on their company for comfort, so she will need a calm and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and provide reassurance as she settles in and finds her paws.As Ocean has never lived in a home before, she will need support with house training, although we are told she is kennel clean, so she may pick this up quickly. She is able to walk on a lead but will need extra security and a patient approach, as she is very nervous of strangers and may redirect if someone unfamiliar is holding her lead.We are looking for a calm, adult-only home for Ocean so that she can relax and adjust to her new surroundings without too much noise or activity. A quiet environment and a consistent routine will be essential in helping her feel secure. As she is larger, and can be a flight risk if she is spooked, her new and secure garden will need to be at least 6ft+, to ensure her safety.Ocean is a very sweet girl who is simply overwhelmed right now. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, she will begin to feel safe and show the loving companion she has the potential to become.Ocean has a travel document.Ocean has been given the Gift of Life by Paul Elliot

BreedBernese Mountain Dog

Rex is a handsome young Bernese Mountain dog who is looking to find himself a new home after his owners were sadly unable to continue to care for him. Rex really is a gentle giant, he has a sweet personality and is full of charm that shines through after gentle introductions to new people. He can be a bit of a worrier, particularly in unfamiliar situations so he will need patient and understanding owners who allow him to build his confidence at his own pace. Once settled in his environment, Rex is an excitable boy who loves nothing more than being around and close to his favourite people. He would suit a family who are around most of the time initially to help him settle into the home as he is happiest when he is included in all the comings and goings of daily life! Once settled into his home, Rex would require an active family who would enjoy taking him on long walks, exploring different environments, as he does love having a good sniff when out on walks with our animal care team. Due to his timid nature, he would require a quieter, more settled home environment and would be best suited to live with older teenage children who are comfortable and used to dogs. Rex could potentially share a home with another dog of similar personality with successful introductions at our centre. It is unknown how he would react around cats in the home.
