Alfie is a 9 year old Greyhound X who we are helping to find a new home under very sad circumstances. He is vaccinated up to date and good with other dogs of all sizes but does not like cats!! He is currently being fostered by a friend of his original owner and has been living happily alongside their resident small dogs and has behaved really well around visiting children. He loves going for his walks but is a real couch potato when at home and loves a good snooze. He is house trained and can be left alone for a reasonable amount of time. We are currently helping to find Willow and Hazel a new home(s) through no fault of their own. Here’s what their current owner says about them:Is 12 years old Lakeland x Bedlington. She is very affectionate and although slowing down still has the daily zoomies but for the rest of the day is happiest curled up being stroked and fussed. She is not a fan of rain/wind or snow but loves sunbathing. She would suit a quieter household when she could be a lap dog. She is very food orientated and was very easy to train, she has many different tricks and will do anything for a titbit (she is allergic to carrot).She likes slow and shorter walks. She is not a fan of off lead dogs as she has been attacked in the past, she has never shown any aggression only fear in these situations. She likes slow introductions to dogs on walks and once she knows them will seek out her doggy friends to say hello.She doesn’t shed so requires to be trimmed, she can be nervous at the doggy salon but will happily let you trim her with scissors.She has never known if she is a dog/cat or mountain goat, she has got on with every animal she comes in contact with.6 year old Bedlington x Whippet,Full of life and loves a long walk. Hazel can be a little bouncy but soon settles down. She loves a cuddle and belly strokes. She will happily lay with you and watch TV on an evening. She is very submissive with dogs we meet on walks and after saying hello just wants to play.Hazel does not like cats, she has been teased by the local cats and they send her into a frenzy.She loves to play with her rope toys and enjoys tug of war and playing fetch. She tries her best to keep all four paws on the ground when excited but sometimes needs to be told to watch her manners which she does. She will sit and wait, most of her day she likes to sit and watch the world go by even in the rain. Surprising for her size I often think I’ve lost her and find her curled up in a small ball having a snooze.Although Willow is getting a little grumbly neither dog has ever shown any aggression and want nothing more than a good fuss.Neither of the dogs are currently vaccinated or neutered so this would need to be done at Ryedale Vets as part of the adoption contract (costs would be covered by RDR).
