05-03-26 Candy has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is feeling a little worried at the moment, but she is such a sweet little girl who is trying very hard to be brave. She isn’t quite confident enough to approach us on her own just yet, but when we approach her she is happy to be handled and accepts a gentle fuss. It’s clear that Candy has a kind and gentle nature, and with plenty of love and patience she will soon begin to blossom. She would love a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace and build her confidence slowly. We would consider homing her with sensible, dog-savvy teenagers who can understand that she will need time and kindness as she adjusts.Candy relies heavily on other dogs for comfort and reassurance, so she will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to guide her and help her feel safe. Having a steady canine friend by her side will make all the difference as she learns about the world around her.She has never lived in a home before, so she will need help learning all about home life. This will include house training, learning to walk on a lead and getting used to everyday household routines and noises. With TLC and a supportive family, we truly believe Candy will grow into a loving and devoted companion. She has a slightly undershot jaw and has arrived with superficial wounds on both ear flaps, which are being treated.Candy has a travel document.Candy has been given the Gift of Life by Jackie Harvey & Katerina Loopstra

Holiday, a 2 years old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel X Bichon Frise available for adoption from Many Tears Animal Rescue in Wales

Holiday

Wales
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCavalier King Charles Spaniel X Bichon Frise

12-01-26 Holiday originally came to us from a breeder a few months ago. She was adopted and found a lovely home, but sadly it wasn't the right match for her and the resident dog wouldn't accept her, so she is now back in our care.Holiday is a very scared girl who is very overwhelmed to find herself here and clearly hasn't had much socialisation before. She finds human interaction quite difficult at the moment and is very hand-shy, so she will need a patient and understanding home that can help her come out of her shell at her own pace. Holiday will run away from you when you enter her kennel and isn't keen on being picked up or handled. She finds this so scary, that if she feels like she is being pushed out of her comfort zone she can choose nip or bite, purely through fear. She did bite her previous adopter once when she was being handled as she became so worried. For this reason, Holiday will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home where there are no visiting children. She will need adopters who hav experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who will let her settle in slowly at her own pace with no pressure or expectations.Holiday finds comfort and reassurance from the company of her canine friends and so she will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing. This dog will need to allow her to snuggle up to them and will need to be happy for her to follow them around. A kind resident dog will be an important source of reassurance and companionship for her as she adjusts to her new life.Although she spent some time in foster and was adopted for a short period, she had never lived in a home before this, so Holiday will still need to learn all about home life and new skills like house training. She will also need to learn to walk on a lead and harness and will need to practice wearing these around the home and garden, once her confidence with handling has grown a little more. She will then need to practice walking around the garden until she is confident enough to venture further.Since arriving back with us, Holiday has started to make some more progress and will now take a treat from our hands as long as she has a doggy friend next to her for support. With time, love and patience she will start to leave her past behind her and will truly start to blossom. Holiday's journey won't be a short one, but it will be so worth it when you see her tail wag for the first time or when she first willingly accepts some fuss and attention. In the right home, she will thrive, so please don't keep her waiting too long.Holiday has been given the Gift of Life by Ellie Worron

She has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding while she adjusts to home life and learns new things like house training and how to walk on a lead.Lady loves other dogs and really enjoys their company and gains confidence from them, so she will be looking for a home with at least one other kind and confident resident dog who can help show her the ropes and reassure her as she settles in.With time, patience and lots of kindness, we believe Lady will grow in confidence and blossom into a lovely companion for the right family.

23-03-26 Libby has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a very special home where she can begin to feel safe and understood. She is a very worried little lady who has never lived in a home or had any previous training, so she is understandably overwhelmed by her new surroundings and unsure of people and their intentions. It is clear that Libby has had very little socialisation in her past, but she is trying her very best to be brave. At the moment, Libby finds handling very worrying. With slow and gentle handling she will come around in her own time and will tolerate some interaction, even approaching for a little scratch once she feels safe. However, she can spook at fast movements or loud noises, and in high-pressure situations such as the vets or close handling, she may panic and make the wrong decision. This is purely fear-based, and with calm, patient support she does recover and settle again.Libby will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand the needs of very nervous ex-breeding dogs. It is essential that her adopters are patient and allow her to go at her own pace at all times, giving her the time and space she needs to build trust. She takes great comfort from the presence of other dogs and relies on them for reassurance, so she will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her, show her the ropes, and build her confidence. As Libby has never lived in a home before, she will need help learning all about home life. This will include house training and getting used to everyday sights and sounds. She is currently too worried to begin learning about walking on a lead and harness and will need to start this in the safety of the garden once she is feeling braver.Libby is a very sweet girl who, in a quiet home with plenty of time, patience, and understanding, has the potential to slowly blossom and learn to trust. With gentle guidance and kindness, she is going to make a wonderful addition to the right home.Libby has a travel document.Libby has been given the Gift of Life by Paula Elliott

Mushroom is a gentle little girl who came to us from a breeder and has already come such a long way from the very nervous dog who first arrived. Life was overwhelming at first, but with time, patience, and kind care, she is slowly learning that the world is not such a scary place after all, it’s full of tasty treats, soft toys, and people who want to help her feel safe.Maisie is still a shy and sensitive soul, but she’s growing in confidence each day. She’s much more comfortable being handled now and is rarely making the wrong decision when picked up. She has discovered that treats are wonderful and will now take them gently from her foster carers’ hands, even giving them her best “Oliver look” as if to say, “Please sir, can I have some more?”She is enjoying the comforts of home life and has made great progress with her house training, with only the occasional mishap. She sleeps soundly through the night, often curling up in her favourite spot, the dog chair, where she can watch the world go by in peace.Maisie has also started to show her playful side. She’s still learning how to play properly and sometimes gets a bit carried away with her toys, but she’s learning that a good chew on a nylon bone is a much better idea! She doesn’t yet walk on a lead, but now that she’s more accepting of being handled, her foster family have begun to gently introduce her to wearing a harness. As with everything in her journey, Maisie will take this next step at her own pace.Maisie will need a calm, patient, adult-only home with adopters who understand nervous dogs and can give her the time and space she needs to continue building her confidence. Mushroom will need a confident female dog that is larger than her or a male resident dog in the home, as she takes great comfort from canine company and looks to them for reassurance and guidance. She is in foster with a cat and so could potentially be homed with a dog savvy cat. Adopters will also need to be mindful of her grooming needs as part of her ongoing care. This sweet girl has already shown such courage and determination. With gentle handling, understanding, and love, Maisie will continue to blossom into the affectionate and loyal little companion she’s destined to be.

Many Tears Animal Rescue

Tikka

Wales
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedCavalier King Charles Spaniel X Bichon Frise

Beautiful Tikka has come to us from a breeder and is now searching for her forever home. When Tikka arrived with us, our vets noted that she had patella luxation in both hind legs, which was causing her to walk with a crab-like gait. At first, she managed well and we were hopeful that as she built up muscle, this would start to get better. Sadly, she continued to struggle and so she has had bilateral Tibial Tuberosity Transposition surgery performed by a specialist and has spent the last several weeks recovering, first on crate rest before being allowed to gradually use her hind legs more to build up strength. She is recovering well and is now ready to find her forever home and can gradually increase her exercise. When Tikka first arrived, she was very shut down and overwhelmed by the world around her. She didn’t yet understand that human hands could be kind and would often try to hide herself away. Since then, Tikka has made good progress and is trying so hard to be brave. She is still quite worried about being handled and isn't a fan of being picked up, but she is coming out of her shell more every day. Despite her worries, she is happy to follow you around and is a very curious little girl.Mornings are her favourite time of day, and she lights up when she sees her carers and absolutely comes to life when her toys appear in her kennel. Tikka adores her toys and shows off her playful side straight away, though she does like to give them a good nibble, so tough toys will be a must for this clever girl.Tikka will need a calm, quiet home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs. It is essential that she has at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and guide, helping her feel safe and showing her the way as she learns about home life. She has never lived in a home before, so she will need patience and support as she settles in and learns new skills like house training. She could share her home with dog-savvy teenagers who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in.Tikka enjoys spending time in our yard and so we have started venturing further afield within the rescue. Now that she has recovered from her surgery, she has begun harness training within secure areas on the rescue grounds.Tikka is a precious soul with so much potential. She may always be a little cautious, but with love, patience, and gentle encouragement, she will blossom. Watching her grow in confidence and show her playful side has been such a joy, now she just needs someone to give her the chance she truly deserves.
