17-04-26 Carry is a sweet, gentle girl who has come to us from a breeder and is currently very scared, timid, and unsure of humans. She will need plenty of time, patience, and TLC in her new home to help her learn to trust and build a loving bond with her family. Once she gets to know you, she will approach you for a fuss but she isn't comfortable being picked up at the moment as this is very new for her.Carry will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home where she can settle in at her own pace. She relies on other dogs for comfort and will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home. A canine companion will provide her with reassurance and help guide her as she learns about home life, giving her someone to lean on as her confidence grows. As Carry has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be understanding while she learns the basics, such as house training and walking on a lead. The big wide world may feel overwhelming for her at first, so starting with calm, gentle experiences, like exploring the garden will help her gradually gain confidence. With love, patience, and understanding, Carry has all the potential to blossom into a happy and trusting companion. Our vets have noted that Carry has a Grade 3 patella luxation in her right hind leg, this isn't causing her any issues at the moment and may improve with gentle exercise but it will need to be monitored by her adopters and their vets and should she need any treatment in the future it wouldn't be coverable by insurance.Carry has a travel document.Carry has been given the Gift of Life by Wendy Bowen

18-04-26 Cloe is a very worried little lady who has come to us from a breeding environment and is not yet comfortable with being handled. It’s clear she has had very little experience of kindness, so she can be quite flighty and may panic if approached too quickly and can choose to make the wrong decision if pushed out of her comfort zone.Cloe settles quickly once she feels safe and has already begun making lovely progress. With her favourite member of staff she is already showing her funny and affectionate side and is happy to approach him, kiss his fingers and will even do a little excited dance. With patient, understanding adopters who can appreciate why she may feel scared or defensive and support her as she builds trust, we believe she will settle in and start to come out of her shell. She will need a calm and quiet adult-only home with no visiting children and with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs and who are willing to give her the patience, kindness, and time she needs to truly thrive.Cloe is already starting to approach you slowly on her own terms and so will need plenty of time, gentle encouragement, and extra TLC to continue building her confidence. She absolutely loves the company of other dogs and will need a kind, calm, and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her as she adjusts to home life.As she has never lived in a home before, Cloe's adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She doesn't yet walk on a lead and harness and will need to practice around the home and garden once she is more comfortable with being handled.Cloe has had 7 teeth extracted at the time of her spay as well as an inguinal hernia repaired. She had a lump on her right upper eye lid that has been removed.Cloe has a travel document.Cloe has been given the Gift of Life by Carol Unsworth

Holiday, a 2 years old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel X Bichon Frise available for adoption from Many Tears Animal Rescue in Wales

Holiday

Wales
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCavalier King Charles Spaniel X Bichon Frise

Holiday originally came to us from a breeder. She was adopted and found a lovely home, but sadly it wasn't the right match for her and the resident dog wouldn't accept her, so she is now back in our care.Holiday is a very scared girl who is overwhelmed to find herself here and clearly hasn't had much socialisation before. She finds human interaction quite difficult at the moment and is very hand-shy, so she will need a patient and understanding home that can help her come out of her shell at her own pace. Holiday will run away when you enter her kennel and isn't keen on being picked up or handled. She finds this so frightening that if she feels pushed beyond her comfort zone, she may react by nipping or biting out of fear. She did bite her previous adopter once when she became overwhelmed during handling.Since returning to us, Holiday has begun to make some really encouraging progress. She is starting to trust people more each day and has even allowed gentle harness fitting, which is a big step forward for her. We have also been working on very gentle touch, always entirely on her terms. When she chooses to come and sit beside you in her bed, she is supported to take things one small step at a time, building confidence through calm interaction and positive rewards.Holiday is also beginning to show more of her personality. She is often one of the first to come forward for a treat, and she has even started to wag her tail. While it may seem like a small thing, for Holiday this is a truly special milestone and a lovely sign that she is beginning to feel a little safer. For this reason, Holiday will still be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home with no visiting children. She will need adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who will allow her to settle slowly, with no pressure or expectations.Holiday finds comfort and reassurance from the company of her canine friends and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home. She forms close bonds with other dogs and gains confidence from being alongside them, often relying on them for reassurance and guidance.Although she spent some time in foster and was adopted for a short period, she had never lived in a home before this, so Holiday will still need to learn all about home life, including house training. She will also need to gradually build up to wearing a harness and lead, continuing at her own pace as her confidence grows.Holiday is getting there, but she needs time, patience, and understanding to continue progressing. It is felt that she would benefit greatly from being in a home environment, where she can build a close bond with her adopters and continue her journey in a quieter, more consistent setting.Holiday is a very special girl who will need someone willing to go slowly and earn her trust, but for the right home, the rewards will be incredibly meaningful. There is always someone out there for every dog, and Holiday is patiently waiting for hers.Holiday has been given the Gift of Life by Ellie Worron

Millie is used to going out to pubs and cafes, she loves the attention and being fussed over by anyone.Millie travels well in the car. She does not seem to be a grazer and is happy with her set breakfast and dinner. Millie is fine going to the groomers and vets. Peaches has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a very scared little girl at the moment and is understandably overwhelmed by all the changes she is facing. She has recently moved to a foster home, where she is settling in at her own pace. Although she will spend time in the same room as people now, she still finds close contact very worrying and does not yet understand that human hands can be kind.Peaches is beginning to show small signs of progress in her own quiet way. With gentle encouragement, she may cautiously approach for a treat and is becoming more inquisitive about the world around her. However, she remains very sensitive and hand-shy. She isn't used to being handled and finds this very worrying. When handled, she may freeze and become distressed, so she will need adopters who are experienced with scared ex-breeding dogs and who are happy to go at her pace with no pressure. She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home where she can begin to relax and settle in her own time. Peaches can startle easily but will settle again with reassurance, and a predictable, peaceful environment will be key to helping her feel safe.Peaches relies heavily on other dogs for comfort and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home. She actively seeks out other dogs for reassurance, enjoys sharing beds with them, and will often follow them around. She is a little too interested in cats, so would need a home with no cats or small furries.Peaches is especially wary of unfamiliar people and may bark when she feels uncertain, so her adopters will need to be understanding and patient as she builds trust.Peaches had never lived in a home before moving to her foster home, but she is now learning all about home life and is already house trained and will take herself out to the garden to do her business. She is starting to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, this is still very new to her and progress is slow, but she is doing very well. A secure garden with at least 6ft boundaries will be essential for her.Peaches is a very brave little girl who is trying her best to navigate a world that feels quite overwhelming. Raven is a sweet, curious girl who has come to us from a breeder. When she first arrived she was quite worried, but her confidence has steadily grown and her cheeky, comical personality is really starting to shine through. She has now been settling into foster life and continues to make slow and steady progress. Home life was completely new to Raven at first and she found it overwhelming, but she has adapted beautifully and is now fully house-trained. She has embraced many of the comforts of home and will now happily jump up on the sofa to sit beside her foster carers, where she enjoys a gentle fuss.Raven remains a timid and hand-shy little girl at times, and she can still be worried about handling, but she has such a lovely, gentle temperament and has never shown even the slightest grumble towards people, dogs or the resident cat. She has been very good for bathing and grooming and is becoming used to regular brushing as part of her routine.Raven absolutely adores other dogs and will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide and reassure her. She takes huge comfort from canine company, gets on brilliantly with the dogs in foster, and is also living happily alongside a cat, who she ignores, so she could potentially live with a dog-savvy feline. She would find young children too much at the moment, but we would consider gentle, dog-savvy older teenagers who would allow her to settle at her own pace.Raven is a curious little girl and a total foodie, with tasty treats still very much the way to her heart and a wonderful aid in helping her continue to build confidence. She has made lovely progress with walking and has gone from beginner steps on lead and harness to genuinely enjoying her outings. It is a joy to see how excited she gets for walks and she walks very nicely without pulling. She has seen light traffic and has taken it in her stride, and foster has even begun recall work on a longline, which is going well so far. She also travels well in a crate in the car. With patience, understanding and plenty of TLC, Raven will continue to blossom into a loving, loyal and joyful companion full of character and fun. She will need adopters who understand nervous ex-breeding dogs and can continue building on all the wonderful progress she has made. Our vets have noted that Raven has Grade 2 patella luxation, which may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. She also had an abdominal hernia repaired at the time of her spay and has been treated for an ear infection.I have been given the Gift of Life by Jean James

She has started to approach people for a gentle sniff before backing away again, which may seem like a small step, but for Ravix it is a huge milestone and shows she is slowly building confidence. She continues to draw comfort from the company of her kennel mates, so we feel she will need to be homed with a calm and confident resident dog who can offer reassurance and help guide her as she adjusts to life outside of kennels.Ravix’s carers have been able to gently approach her and introduce a harness, and she is beginning to get used to wearing one. This is an important early step before she starts learning to walk on a lead. With nervous dogs like Ravix, taking things slowly and at her pace will be key to helping her succeed, and little by little her personality is starting to shine through. As Ravix has never lived in a home before, she will need patient adopters who can gently teach her all about house training, lead training, and the everyday basics of home life. A predictable routine and a quiet environment will help her build confidence at her own pace.We are looking for an adult-only home for Ravix so that she can settle into her new surroundings without too much noise or activity. Beautiful Tikka has come to us from a breeder and is now searching for her forever home. When Tikka arrived with us, our vets noted that she had patella luxation in both hind legs, which was causing her to walk with a crab-like gait. She had bilateral Tibial Tuberosity Transposition surgery performed by a specialist, which she has recovered beautifully from and is now ready to find her forever home. When Tikka first arrived, she was very shut down and overwhelmed by the world around her. She didn’t yet understand that human hands could be kind and would often try to hide herself away. Since then, Tikka has made good progress and is trying so hard to be brave and has turned into a sassy little lady when she is around her kennel friends. She is still quite worried about being handled and isn't a fan of being picked up, but she is coming out of her shell more every day. Despite her worries, she is happy to follow you around and is a very curious little girl.Mornings are her favourite time of day, and she lights up when she sees her carers and absolutely comes to life when her toys appear in her kennel. Tikka adores her toys and shows off her playful side straight away, though she does like to give them a good nibble, so tough toys will be a must for this clever girl.Tikka will need a calm, quiet home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs. It is essential that she has at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and guide, helping her feel safe and showing her the way as she learns about home life. She has never lived in a home before, so she will need patience and support as she settles in and learns new skills like house training. She could share her home with dog-savvy teenagers who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in.Tikka enjoys spending time in our yard and so we have started venturing further afield within the rescue. Now that she has recovered from her surgery, she has begun harness training within secure areas on the rescue grounds.Tikka is a precious soul with so much potential. She may always be a little cautious, but with love, patience, and gentle encouragement, she will blossom. Watching her grow in confidence and show her playful side has been such a joy, now she just needs someone to give her the chance she truly deserves.
