Adopt a Rescue Dog in Hull

Barking Mad Dog Rescue is a UK charity helping vulnerable and abandoned dogs in Romania find safe, loving homes. Founded after the rescue of a stray dog named Pixie in 2013, the charity has since rehomed more than 3,000 dogs in the UK and Germany and provides daily food and care for hundreds of dogs across shelters and local communities in Romania.

Oakwood Dog Rescue is a privately funded dog rescue charity operating since 2009 with a strong focus on long-term, successful rehoming rather than quick placements. The charity works with dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds, including those with behavioural or special needs, aiming to rehabilitate each dog and place them into a single, lifelong home through a carefully managed adoption process. Oakwood’s purpose-built facilities are designed to prioritise welfare, offering enrichment, exercise, and calm kennel environments supported by dedicated volunteers. Funded entirely by public generosity and supported by on-site social enterprises, the rescue continues to help vulnerable dogs from the UK and overseas while making difficult welfare decisions only when all other options have been exhausted.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), founded in 1824, is the oldest and largest animal welfare organisation in the world, operating across England and Wales. Funded primarily by voluntary donations, the charity rescues animals from cruelty, investigates neglect and organised animal crime, and provides advice to improve animal welfare. Its network includes rescue teams, animal hospitals, rehabilitation centres and over 150 locally run branches that support rehoming, neutering and community welfare services.
