Bailey

South Yorkshire

Age4 years
BreedCockapoo

Hi, I’m Bailey!I’m a 4 year 9 month old Cockapoo looking for a family to share all my love, cuddles, and zoomies with!If you’ve got toys, then we’re already going to be best friends. I absolutely love playing, running around, and having fun. Life is just one big adventure to me, and I’m always ready for the next game or exciting thing to do. Whether it’s chasing a toy around the garden or showing off my speedy zoomies, I know how to keep everyone smiling! When I’ve finished playing, my softer side comes out. I’m a big cuddly teddy bear at heart and love nothing more than curling up for some fuss and affection. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys snuggles as much as playtime, then I could be the girl for you.Like many Cockapoos, I can be a little bit anxious at times, especially when I’m faced with new situations. But don’t let that fool you – it certainly doesn’t stop me from enjoying life! With a little patience, reassurance, and love, my confidence continues to grow and my fun-loving personality really shines through.I’ve previously lived with another dog called Brandy, who is also looking for her forever home, so I may be able to live with another dog pending successful introductions.Cats aren’t really my cup of tea, so I’d be happiest in a home without any feline friends.I’ve also lived with children before and enjoyed being part of family life. As long as the children in my new home are comfortable around a giddy, excitable girl like me, I could fit right in!The kennel team are still getting to know me and will update my profile as they learn more about my personality, likes, and dislikes.I’m looking for a family who will give me plenty of love, attention, and opportunities to play. In return, I promise to fill your home with happiness, cuddles, and lots of wagging-tail excitement.Could I be the missing piece of your family? My adoption fee is £350.

Benji

South Yorkshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedLabrador

Benji is looking for active and patient owners to offer him a loving new home. He is an affectionate boy who loves company, and is very much used to being around people most of the time. When he knows you, he is a lively dog, so a home where he will get plenty of exercise will be best for him. Benji has been friendly with other dogs here, so a playful companion may be possible. He has a history of separation related anxiety in a home, so needs time left to be built up very gradually, once he is fully settled and established. If you’re looking for a dog to train and adventure with Benji could be your dog – could you offer him a loving new home?

Blossom, a 8 months old female Cane Corso available for adoption from HYPS - Helping Yorkshire Poundies in South Yorkshire

HYPS - Helping Yorkshire Poundies

Blossom

South Yorkshire
SexFemale
Age8 months
BreedCane Corso

Blossom is an approx 8 month old Cane Corso puppy who is the most beautiful girl and now ready to find her perfect home. This special girl really has been through so much – she was found tied up and abandoned with a broken leg and was emaciated. She was absolutely terrified. She has surgery to repair her leg, and we moved her into foster care where she’s been doing really well. Blossom needs a home with breed experience who can give her the ongoing training and understanding that Cane Corso need. She is very typical of her breed – so loving, affectionate and a big goofy puppy with her people, and is naturally unsure of strangers (but soon comes round) – this is very typical of her breed – they love their people, and are naturally suspicious of strangers. Blossom can be left for a few hours, can live with another dog (a larger breed neutered male would be ideal), and can possibly live with a confident cat. She is in foster with young children, but as she’s now an excitable big puppy, she’s a bit too boisterous at times to live with little ones, so older children upwards would be best. Please note: Blossom has just had surgery for her cherry eye, so in this photo her eyes are still a bit swollen, but this will subside soon. After all she’s been through, we now urgently need to find Blossom a home where she can finally settle, and start the life she deserves.** PLEASE FILL IN A PRE ADOPTION FORM IF YOU CAN OFFER BLOSSOM A 5* CANE CORSO SAVVY HOME **

Bolt, a 5 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Mayflower Sanctuary in South Yorkshire

Mayflower Sanctuary

Bolt

South Yorkshire
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

This handsome chap is Bolt. Originally arriving as an unclaimed stray, we don’t know much about his past, but we’re on the lookout for the perfect home to change his future. Bolt is generally quite a calm dog here at the centre, although he does love a good run around in the paddock, and has shown some interest in toys, even if he’s not quite sure what to do with them yet! Bolt will offer some basic commands, but as we suspect he is partially deaf (although difficult to know for sure how much hearing he has), sign language could be used to further training – he is food motivated and keen to learn. Bolt has been neutral around dogs here, and may be fine with a placid canine companion – he isn’t overly playful. Could you offer him a loving new home?

BreedRottweiler x Mastiff

Hi, I’m Brandy!I’m a 2 year 9 month old Rottweiler x Mastiff girl looking for a loving family to call my own.If you’re looking for a dog with a big personality, then look no further! I’m a super excitable, happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and greets every day with a wagging tail and a huge smile. I can be a little giddy at times because I get so excited about making new friends and exploring the world around me.Being a Rottweiler x Mastiff, I’m a big girl with an even bigger heart. Because of my size and enthusiasm, I can be quite strong on the lead, so I’d love a home with someone who has experience with larger breeds and can help me continue working on my manners.I’ve previously lived with another dog called Bailey, who is also looking for a home, so I may be able to live with another dog pending successful introductions. Unfortunately, cats aren’t for me – I don’t really like them, so I’d need a cat-free home.I’ve also lived with children in my previous home and enjoyed being part of family life. As long as any children in my new home are comfortable around a big, bouncy, silly girl like me, we could be the perfect match! The kennel team are still getting to know me, and they’ll update my profile as they learn more about my personality, likes, and dislikes. What I really want is a family who will give me plenty of love, guidance, and fun adventures. In return, I’ll bring lots of laughter, affection, and endless companionship to your life.Could you be the forever family I’ve been waiting for? I can’t wait to meet you!My adoption fee is £350.

HYPS - Helping Yorkshire Poundies

Brenda

South Yorkshire
SexFemale
Age4 years
BreedBulldog

Little Brenda Bulldog steals everyones hearts wherever she goes! She’s just amazing – with that cheeky smile and sassy little wiggle as she walks you can’t not smile along with her! Brenda was a stray and not microchipped – we estimate her to be around 4 yrs old. She enjoys her walks, but won’t be wanting long hikes – more of a nice potter around the park and then back for a snooze and cuddle! Brenda walks nicely on lead and is fine around other dogs. We do think she’ll want to be the only dog in the home though so she won’t have to share all the attention! She would love to find a family who know and love Bulldogs, understand their fabulous quirky personalities and will treat her like the Princess she is!!** PLEASE FILL IN A PRE ADOPTION FORM IF YOU CAN OFFER BRENDA BULLDOG HER DREAM HOME **

With no paid staff, every effort is fuelled by passion, experience, and a genuine belief that every dog deserves the right home. Today, the rescue focuses on using foster homes to truly understand each dog’s individual needs, allowing time for assessment, training, and support. This thoughtful, hands-on approach ensures dogs are matched with homes where they can thrive, with ongoing advice and backup always available.

Helping Yorkshire Poundies (HYPS) was founded in 2012 by Amanda Pollard Saville after she became aware of the fate facing dogs on death row in overcrowded pounds. What began as a one-person effort—personally funding boarding, veterinary care, and transport—quickly grew into a dedicated team as others joined the mission. The charity provides sanctuary, protection, and treatment for abandoned or stray dogs at immediate risk of euthanasia, using foster homes and emergency boarding kennels until a rescue space or forever home is found. While primarily focused on Yorkshire, HYPS will also help dogs outside the region when resources allow. At its heart, the charity exists to give vulnerable dogs the time, safety, and second chance they would not otherwise have.

More Information

South Yorkshire’s mix of urban centres and nearby green spaces means rescue dogs are often matched carefully to suit city-based lifestyles. Many dogs adopted here benefit from structured routines, access to parks, and adopters committed to training and enrichment. Local rescues work closely with adopters to ensure dogs can cope comfortably with their environment. Adopting locally supports responsible rehoming across the county.
