Please meet Arctic! She is a very special girl looking for a very special home with patient, experienced adopters who will never give up on her and who will love her for exactly who she is.Arctic first came to us from a breeder in 2025. When she arrived, she was an extremely frightened and shut-down girl who found people and handling very overwhelming. Since then, life has been a bit of a rollercoaster for this special girl. She was adopted twice but has sadly found herself back in our care both times. Her first adoption sadly wasn't the right match due to her level of fear, as she could nip if pushed beyond her comfort zone. Her second return came after she accidentally escaped through the front door. In the panic of the situation, she bit her adopter when they tried to catch her, and it was decided that returning her to us was the best option.Arctic is now settling into foster care, where she has already started to show us more of her wonderful personality. She found the first couple of days quite stressful and spent a lot of time pacing while she explored her new surroundings, but she has settled well and is becoming much more relaxed. She is a very curious girl who likes to know what is going on and will happily follow her foster family from room to room to see what they are doing.She has been mostly clean during the day, although she has had the occasional overnight accident as she adjusts to her new routine. Arctic sleeps quietly overnight in her crate and is always pleased to see her foster carer in the morning, eagerly waiting for her breakfast.Arctic is still a very anxious girl and remains particularly worried about being touched or handled. However, she is already making gentle progress. She is slowly learning to trust her foster carer, who is able to carefully pick her up using a blanket and gently groom her, during which she will accept handling and strokes. She has even started choosing to sit on the sofa alongside her foster carer and the other dogs, although she is not yet comfortable with being touched whilst relaxing. Everything is very much on Arctic's terms, and she is showing that, with patience, she is capable of building trusting relationships.She will need a very special, adult-only home with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs. If she feels pushed beyond her comfort zone, she can make the wrong decisions purely out of fear, so her new family will need to be patient, understanding and committed to helping her continue building her confidence over the long term. She may never be a lap dog, but she is a lovely girl who will show her affection in her own quiet ways, and watching her grow in confidence will be incredibly rewarding.Arctic had never experienced life in a home before her adoption. Although she spent around six months in her most recent home and is now continuing to learn in foster care, she will still need adopters who understand that she may need a refresher with house training and time to adjust to a new routine.She has started learning about wearing a harness and, once the warmer weather has passed, her foster carer will continue this training. She is still at the very beginning of her lead walking journey, so she will need a home with a secure garden where she can safely enjoy the outdoors while she builds her confidence.One thing Arctic has always loved is the company of other dogs. They are her greatest source of comfort and reassurance, and we feel she would thrive in a home with multiple confident resident dogs, as she relies on canine company so much. She has impeccable doggy manners and gets on brilliantly with all of the dogs in her foster home. She can have a bit of a strong personality, so her resident dogs will need to be happy with her occasionally being a little bossy. She is also happily living alongside a cat in foster care and takes no notice of them.Arctic is looking for a home that will love her for exactly who she is, rather than who they hope she might become. She is already showing that she enjoys the comforts of home, from curling up on a soft bed to relaxing on the sofa with her canine friends. With experienced adopters, patient guidance and confident canine companions by her side, we truly believe Arctic will continue to blossom and enjoy the happy, secure future she so deserves.When Arctic originally came to us, she had some fur loss, but this has grown back wonderfully. She also had an enlarged mammary gland, but our vets are not concerned about this at present, although it may require monitoring by her adopters and their own vet. Are you right for Bandit?Bandit is an eleven-year-old Pomeranian cross Shih Tzu LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME TOGETHER WITH PEPPER. Bandit and Pepper could share their home with secondary school aged children. They are looking to be the only dogs in the home and a home without small furries, cats, or livestock. They are both housetrained. They could cope with a reasonably busy home environment and are likely to by shy of new visitors. They will need a home with a garden. They are living off-site in a foster home and here’s what their foster carers says, “A pair of gems! Not only do they look adorable, but they also have hearts of gold. They are completely tuned in to their significant person/people. They attach quickly. They soon know your routine. Your down time is their snooze time.”Is Bandit right for you?Bandit and Pepper are a well bonded pair. Bandit is the more confident one of the pair. He wears his heart on his sleave and just wants you to love him and tell him that he is ‘a good boy!’ Bandit, followed by Pepper, is in his element when he is having a fuss and a snuggle on your lap. They love to be close to you. Bandit enjoys a fuss under his chin and behind his ears. Bandit has more dynamic energy and will enjoy a play with his human. Bandit is motivated by treats and is doing well with learning a sit and wait. Out and about they are gaining confidence, they love going out for walks, they prefer shorter walks rather than long hikes. They don’t want a lot from other dogs and Bandit would rather give them a wide-birth. “They are a very easy pair of small dogs to have around. They provide endless entertainment, so cute to look at, have such sweet expressions, and make the most adorable sleeping cosy noises.” (Their foster carer.)

Bear is a Pomeranian X, born approx June 2024. He was found running loose with another dog, Skylar. They were brought to us but unfortunately they were never claimed so they are now looking for a new home. They are a very bonded pair and follow each other around all the time. We need to find them a home where they can stay together.Both Bear and Skylar are very friendly and love to be around people. They know their basic manners and enjoy treats.They like to have a run around outside and will play together and run after each other. They are a very happy go lucky pair. Both walk very nicely together on their leads.NB. Bear is a smart and motivated boy who is making great progress with his training in his foster home. Once Bear knows and trusts you, he's a wonderful companion. He loves nothing more than curling up for snuggles on the sofa after a day of playing with his favourite toys. He's a sweet, affectionate boy with lots of love to give to the people he knows. Bear settles well at home, sleeps downstairs on his own overnight, and is happy to be left for up to four hours. Bear is looking for an adult-only home in a quiet location with minimal visitors, where life is calm and predictable. Our absolute star student: This intelligent, joyful little treasure has made incredible progress and is still waiting for his perfect person.Bear is a young, 10-month-old Yorkshire Terrier x Pomeranian, who’s an intelligent, high-energy pup who has grown into the most wonderful, joyful little dog.He is bright as a button, eager, and full of potential, but he thrives on consistency, boundaries, and the right routine to help him shine.Bear is believed to be a Pom x Yorkie type mix, though we suspect there is likely some Cairn Terrier or similar breed in there too. Whatever his exact mix, what is clear is that he is a small, sturdy, very busy terrier-type dog with a big personality and even bigger energy levels.After arriving as an over-stimulated, under-taught whirlwind, the good news is that he has come on in leaps and bounds. Everyone meet 4yr old Pomeranian x Yorkshire Terrier Dunco. How cute!Unfortunately little Dunco hasn’t had a good life. We know from his current owner that before she took him, his life was very poor and he suffered abuseAs a result Dunco is nervous of new people and afraid of unpredictable situations. However once he gets to know you he’s affectionate, friendly and playful.He has had very little training or socialisation so needs someone with patience, understanding and time.There will be a hill to climb initially, but as so many of the people who have adopted from us have found, the rewards are immeasurable. Dunco hasn’t been socialised with other dogs. On our assessment walk he ignored a dog passing at a distance. Other than that, at present we aren’t able to say how he would behave in the company of other dogs. His reaction to cats is unknown. No children. Pulls on lead but as he’s only a little dot- just 7kg- this is easily manageable.Interested? Do you have the time and patience to teach Dunco that life can be good?

*EDDIE HAS MADE AMAZING PROGRESS WITH US, WE FEEL HE CAN BE ADOPTED NOW TO THE CORRECT ENVIRONMENT*We saved Eddie after he was being passed around on a social media platform and given away to one bad home after another. He was forced to wear an electric shock collar which in turn has caused him to have some behaviour issues.Eddie is a very spritely boy who is full of fun energy, he is good with other dogs but does like to chase and play a lot and can become quite frustrated with them if they do not want to interact with him. We believe he may be better as an only dog due to this factor, however we do also believe that it depends on the type of person who would be his new humans and what experience and environment they hold.Eddies adoptive home must have experience with his breed, he is very outgoing for a Pomeranian and has and will nip and tell you if he isn’t happy with something. We do feel he will be able to adapt into a home but it will only work if it’s with the correct understanding, patient people.Eddie HATES his neck area being touched, he does not like a collar and also doesn’t really like being groomed so these things MUST be taken into consideration. Eddie cannot be homed near children due to his little man attitude. He is very sweet in many ways and once he feels comfortable he’s happy to be cuddled but everything is on his own terms, we do believe he may be more settled in a home environment with one person so he can have them all to himself and they can get to understand his quirky ways!Eddie loves food and is very food driven which helps when trying to do certain things with him. Eddie loves being outside mooching around and doing his thing, we would love for him to have a big garden (fully secure) so he can safely run and play without the worry of having to be on a lead all the time being walked. He just doesn’t really like the whole lead going on and off.. it’s due to his treatment before us saving him which is understandable.Eddie would be perfect for someone who has had a small dog with a sassy personality and willing to allow him to be himself but in turn understand that he can react when put in a position he isn’t happy with. Being that he’s small, young and has many positive traits we do really want to try and see if we can find him a safe loving home where he will be understood.There’s lots more we can tell you about this little handsome dude and his quirky ways as we’ve gotten to know him pretty well since saving him. He’s been neutered and was actually pretty well behaved in the vets. He is extremely comical which certainly helps with being his cheeky naughty self.He has made such brilliant progress, he is happy for us to show him affection and love, he has really learnt that not all us humans are harmful and is trust has grown hugely. We’re very proud of him and will be so happy if we find him the correct home for him!

Are you right for Foxy?Foxy and Rex are a Father and Son duo who would love to find a new home together. Foxy is 3years old and Rex is 9months old. They are lovely boys who love being around people and could join a home with children of Primary school age and older. They have lived with another dog and have the potential to join a home with an existing dog pending meets at the centre. They are used to being left and once settled could be built up to being left providing arrangements are made to let them out to toilet if leaving for longer hours. They travel well in the car and have been good for both veterinary handling and grooming.Is Foxy right for you?Foxy and Rex are lovely boys who are looking for a new home through no fault of their own and they will make a delightful addition to their new home. Foxy and Red are being rehomed via our HomeStay scheme so are not at the Centre. An appointment can be made to meet them if you are found to be a match.

18-07-26 Juice has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a loving forever home where she can begin the next chapter of her life.She is a wonderful little lady who is feeling a little shy and overwhelmed at the moment, but she is trying so hard to be brave. Juice is already showing lovely signs that she wants to trust people. She will quietly hover nearby, watching you with interest and looking as though she would really like to come over for a gentle fuss, but at the last moment her worries get the better of her. We think that with time, patience, love and plenty of reassurance, her confidence will continue to grow and her true personality will begin to shine through.Juice will be looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. She will need patient adopters who understand that building trust takes time and who will let her make progress without putting any pressure on her. She will also need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can be her friend and help show her that life is full of good things.As Juice has never lived in a home before, everything will be a brand new experience for her. She will need help with housetraining, learning about household routines and gradually becoming accustomed to all the sights and sounds of family life. She is also yet to learn how to walk on a lead and harness, so her adopters will need to introduce this gently and positively as her confidence grows.Juice is a lovely girl with so much potential. Louise has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a very special forever home. She is an extremely worried little girl who has had very little positive human socialisation and currently finds people and handling very frightening. Although she is still a very scared girl, she has already started to show us that, with patience and understanding, she is capable of making lovely progress.Over the past month, Louise has grown in confidence every single day. While she is still terrified of being touched and picked up, she is no longer as shut down as she was when she first arrived. She is now more than happy to come over for treats and will happily sit close by while waiting for more. As she has begun to relax, her cheeky little personality has started to shine through. She likes to use her voice to let everyone know exactly how she's feeling, is very partial to chasing flies, and has quite a big personality packed into such a tiny dog. Watching her confidence slowly grow has been an absolute pleasure.Louise will need a calm and quiet adult-only home with no visiting children, and adopters who have experience helping fearful ex-breeding dogs learn to trust. She relies heavily on the comfort and reassurance of other dogs and will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can help guide her as she settles into family life.Although Louise takes great comfort from other dogs, she can show signs of resource guarding around food. For this reason, she will need to be fed separately from any resident dogs, and care should be taken when offering treats or other high-value food items. Her adopters will need experience managing this behaviour calmly and appropriately.Louise is slowly becoming more comfortable with being handled, and gentle work has begun to help her get used to being picked up. While this is still very worrying for her and she can become wriggly and panic when lifted, she has never tried to bite during these sessions. We are confident this will continue to improve with time as she learns that she is safe and that nobody is going to hurt her.Having never lived in a home before, Louise has lots to learn. Her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she adjusts to home life and learns the basics, including house training. She is not yet ready to begin harness training or venture out into the outside world, so her future family will need to carefully plan how they will introduce these experiences when she feels ready. Everything must happen at Louise's pace to ensure she continues building confidence rather than becoming overwhelmed.Louise is a sensitive little soul who will need a dedicated home willing to invest time, patience and understanding into helping her flourish. Every small step she takes is a huge achievement, and she continues to surprise us with just how much she is growing in confidence.
