Arctic has come to us from a breeder in search of her very first home. She was adopted for a short period of time but has since found her way back to us as the home was not quite the right fit. Although the adoption was unsuccessful, it did help Arctic gain some confidence, which has been a huge milestone for her.Arctic is a worried little lady who was extremely frightened when she was initially adopted. Since returning to us, however, we have seen a significant improvement in her confidence. While she remains an anxious dog, she is trying her very best to be brave and continues to make steady progress. She is still very worried about handling and can become overwhelmed if pushed too far, and may make a wrong decision, so any interactions with her must be done at her pace. She will now allow handling when approached calmly and gently, but she will need understanding adopters who are willing to continue building her trust over the long term.Because of her sensitive nature, Arctic is looking for a calm and quiet adult-only home with adopters who have experience with nervous ex-breeding dogs. She has always taken great comfort from the company of other dogs and relies heavily on them for reassurance. Arctic must be rehomed with at least two kind and confident resident dogs who can help guide her through life in a home environment. While she enjoys canine company, she does have quite a strong personality and can be a little bossy at times, so her future doggy friends will need to be tolerant of her occasional princess-like tendencies.Apart from her brief adoption, Arctic has never lived in a home before, so many aspects of family life will still be new to her. She will need continued support with house training, lead walking, and learning that the world is not such a scary place. With time, patience and consistency, we are confident she will continue to grow in confidence and develop into a happier dog.Over the time she has spent back with us, Arctic has blossomed into a little princess who is ready to be spoiled as she deserves. Although she may never be the type of dog who wants to curl up on your lap, she has already shown how much progress she is capable of making. With a gentle and experienced home, we are sure she will continue moving forwards and gaining confidence.Arctic has some fur loss, which we hope will improve following her spay and with plenty of TLC. She also has an enlarged mammary gland, but our vets are not concerned about this at present. In addition, she is currently receiving treatment for sore skin on her backend. These conditions will be considered pre-existing and are therefore unlikely to be covered by standard pet insurance policies.Arctic is a sweet and sensitive little Pom who simply needs understanding, patience and time. With a peaceful home, plenty of love, and a supportive group of canine companions by her side, we believe she will continue to come out of her shell and show just how far she can go. For the right family, helping Arctic on her journey will be an incredibly rewarding experience.Arctic has been given the Gift of Life by Laura Woods

BreedPomeranian

Axel is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua – often called a Pomchi. He becomes very attached to his owners. Thanks for clicking on my profile. I have now been matched with a loving family and I’m looking forward to settling in at my new home. However, many of my friends still need adopting. Can you offer them the love and devotion they deserve?Axel is a new arrival at ARC. He is a nervous boy and can be wary of bigger dogs and unfortunately doesn’t get on with cats.Axel forms strong bonds with his owner and is Okay with older children over 10 years old. He has previously had some guarding issues over his male owner because he felt so attached to him.Axel has no food aggression. He likes bones and to play with ball toys, but destroys soft toys and cuddlies. We think that Axel would suit a quieter more mature household, perhaps a retired couple, where he would get as much attention and love as he deserves. To enquire please call 01279 501547.I will receive initial health checks, up-to-date vaccinations, neutering/spaying (if age/timing is appropriate), flea treatment, worming treatment, microchipping and essential vet care that occurs during my stay.

7-month-old Yorkshire Terrier x PomeranianBear’s a young, intelligent, high-energy pup who has simply not been taught how to channel himself yet. He’s bright as a button, eager, and full of potential - but he needs consistency, boundaries, and the right home to help him put all those pieces together.Bear is believed to be a Pom × Yorkie type mix, though we suspect there’s likely some Cairn Terrier or similar breed in there too. Whatever his exact mix, what’s clear is that he’s a small, sturdy, very busy terrier-type dog with a big personality and even bigger energy levels. At this stage, Bear is still very much learning how to be a dog in a home environment - but the good news is, he is already showing huge improvement.Bear has come on leaps and bounds while with us:Now a sweet, affectionate, people-loving little dogNipping behaviour has completely stopped in our careRecall is improving well (with ongoing training needed)Sleeps through the night and is settling into routineBeginning to understand boundaries and structureHe’s a cracking little dog who genuinely wants to get things right — he just needs help learning how.Bear is very much at the beginning of his training journey:Lead walking is very limited and overstimulating for himGets overexcited easily and needs calm, structured guidanceStrong prey drive - small, fast animals will trigger himChews when bored and is very active mentally and physicallyGrooming is currently a challenge due to overexcitementHe is not yet ready for relaxed outings or busy environments.Friendly and playful off-lead and in the homeEnjoys canine company and settles well with other dogsNo issues with dogs he has met in our careOn-lead greetings still need work due to overexcitementHe would likely benefit from living with another confident, well-balanced dog.At present, lead walking is a work in progress. Chi, a 7 months old male Pomeranian available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Chi

Kent

Little Chi came to Foal through no fault of his own. This little lad is adorable, at just 7 months old he loves everyone and everything!Typical to his breed he can be vocal at times and as his world has been tipped upside down at a tender age, he will need training in all areas as well as socialising and confidence building. We are currently working with him to create grooming as a positive experience as this is something he will require regularly.Chi is still learning on how to socialise appropriately around other dogs without being too over the top in his greetings. He could potentially live with a calm established dog within the home pending on introductions at the farm. He could live within a family home with older children who are dog savvy and used to puppy characteristics, as he can still be a little mouthy at times. We are seeking adopters who are willing to invest time and effort into training Chi as well as putting boundaries in place so he can grow up to be a well mannered adult dog. He is a very loving boy who will make a wonderful companion.

Eddie, a 4 years old male Pomeranian available for adoption from Rushton Dog Rescue in Somerset

Eddie

Age4 years
BreedPomeranian

*EDDIE HAS MADE AMAZING PROGRESS WITH US, WE FEEL HE CAN BE ADOPTED NOW TO THE CORRECT ENVIRONMENT*We saved Eddie after he was being passed around on a social media platform and given away to one bad home after another. He was forced to wear an electric shock collar which in turn has caused him to have some behaviour issues.Eddie is a very spritely boy who is full of fun energy, he is good with other dogs but does like to chase and play a lot and can become quite frustrated with them if they do not want to interact with him. We believe he may be better as an only dog due to this factor, however we do also believe that it depends on the type of person who would be his new humans and what experience and environment they hold.Eddies adoptive home must have experience with his breed, he is very outgoing for a Pomeranian and has and will nip and tell you if he isn’t happy with something. We do feel he will be able to adapt into a home but it will only work if it’s with the correct understanding, patient people.Eddie HATES his neck area being touched, he does not like a collar and also doesn’t really like being groomed so these things MUST be taken into consideration. Eddie cannot be homed near children due to his little man attitude. He is very sweet in many ways and once he feels comfortable he’s happy to be cuddled but everything is on his own terms, we do believe he may be more settled in a home environment with one person so he can have them all to himself and they can get to understand his quirky ways!Eddie loves food and is very food driven which helps when trying to do certain things with him. Eddie loves being outside mooching around and doing his thing, we would love for him to have a big garden (fully secure) so he can safely run and play without the worry of having to be on a lead all the time being walked. He just doesn’t really like the whole lead going on and off.. it’s due to his treatment before us saving him which is understandable.Eddie would be perfect for someone who has had a small dog with a sassy personality and willing to allow him to be himself but in turn understand that he can react when put in a position he isn’t happy with. Being that he’s small, young and has many positive traits we do really want to try and see if we can find him a safe loving home where he will be understood. There’s lots more we can tell you about this little handsome dude and his quirky ways as we’ve gotten to know him pretty well since saving him. He’s been neutered and was actually pretty well behaved in the vets. He is extremely comical which certainly helps with being his cheeky naughty self.He has made such brilliant progress, he is happy for us to show him affection and love, he has really learnt that not all us humans are harmful and is trust has grown hugely. We’re very proud of him and will be so happy if we find him the correct home for him!
