️ Annabel.. have you seen her ears though??!! She has only been at the kennels in Nantwich for a few weeks but it’s taking her a while to find her feet, especially as she is used to living in a home. She was returned due to some issues with the male in the house but she is still a young dog and is finding her setting overwhelming and is sad when she gets left alone.Annabel is very fearful and this manifests in her overcompensating when people approach her kennel. It’s just noise though because as soon as you approach she does jump up to say hello. She is definitely more wary of men than women and does try to hide from the males if they approach.Annabel walks nicely on the lead, does have the occasional bouts of pulling, but settles quickly. She does sometimes tend to fixate on other dogs but is getting better. She is a bit fearful of traffic but enjoys saying hello to people.Annabel hasn’t really mixed with other dogs at the kennels yet but is happy to be walked in a pack and plays with them through the fence. She would be happy to live with other dogs or to be the only dog in the household.Annabel doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods so she would need a family that were around a lot of the time. She would be perfectly content fulfilling the role of your little shadow so if there is a vacancy in your life, she is ready and willing.Annabel will develop in confidence once she gets to know you but she will need a patient, possibly female led home who understand it will take her time to settle and show her true personality. Once she trusts you though she will show you her loving, playful nature, and her favourite toy. She just needs a comfy sofa, and her new forever family by her side to help her shine.️

This is the lovely Arlo and we are looking for a special home for him!Arlo is only 19 months old and he hasn’t had much joy in his life so far. As a young dog he was surrendered to another Charity as the original owners were unable to provide him with the attention, training and exercise he needed, due to them having a small child. They placed him in a foster home with eleven other, older dogs who bullied him. Consequently he never had long enough to relax and find his feet. Understandably this has made him a little anxious around some strange dogs. Obviously he wasn’t thriving in this environment and the Charity eventually asked NWESSR to take him. Since coming into our care he has made friends with an older NWESSR dog and our dog walker takes them out together, which they enjoy. As poor Arlo has never had a proper home of his own he is still quite immature and puppyish, he needs to learn what it’s like to live with a loving family and enjoy all the exciting things the world has to offer an eager young Springer! While in NWESSR’s care our Trainer has been working on building his confidence and also his recall and loose lead walking which are both improving. When rewarded with a treat he takes it gently. He loves to play fetch, will drop his toy and doesn’t snatch it back. He loves to swim when given the chance. In spite of his difficult start in life, Arlo is a friendly boy, full of affection, just wanting to be loved and desperate to form a close bond with his special person or family. At present he is in our kennels, however he is quite stressed and unhappy in this environment when not out and about and really needs his forever home.We are looking for an experienced, cat free, home where the owner/s are able to give this energetic young springer the exercise and adventures he needs, but also a quiet space where he can relax and decompress.Arlo loves a cuddle and needs someone with the time to continue his training and above all give him the love and patience he deserves, in return you will gain a lovely companion who will repay your efforts with all the love, fun and affection you could wish for.If you think you can give Arlo his new forever home, on the application button belowApplication Form

We were asked by a pound to take in this young lad whose time was up. Arti is a GSD cross Mali we believe. He is now microchipped we believe he is between 1 & 2 years old. Still entire and vaccinations to be restarted.Arti is a little nervous of new people but no malice in him. He loves toys and seems to be a typical energetic, young lad! No young children as we do not know his history. No reaction to other dogs at the kennels so far but further assessment here will be done.Arti will need an experienced home that can continue teaching him that people and the world are not as scary as he currently thinks.

Cane Corso Black 1 Year (approx) Ref: 5186 Apply now Meet Bouncy Bert :) Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances, Bert's owner is no longer able to keep him, this is such a heartbreaking time for the family. Bert is a young, lively boy bursting with energy and personality. True to his nickname, he’s incredibly playful and bouncy, and now all he really wants to do is play—especially when he sees other dogs! He would really benefit from continued training and social bonding to help him manage his excitement and build his confidence. Bert can be strong on the lead and does pull, but he’s improving well with a head collar and just needs someone willing to continue his training. He can also be quite vocal and will bark when he spots other dogs, but with patience and consistency, this can be worked on. Although Bert hasn’t lived with another dog before, he could potentially live with the right companion—ideally a smaller, calm dog who suits his playful nature. However, Bert cannot live with cats. On the positive side, Bert is fantastic with children. He is very loving, protective, and forms strong bonds with his family. He absolutely adores affection, loves cuddles, and is happiest when he’s close to his people—he’ll even happily curl up and sleep in bed with you at night. Bert is a big softie at heart who just wants to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. With the right guidance, patience, and plenty of affection, he will make a loyal, fun, and incredibly loving companion. If you think you can offer Bert his forever home then please apply below Dog Perfect Match form You'll need to take me to training classes I could live with children of secondary school age I can be left alone for short periods I'd prefer to be the only dog in a home I'd prefer not to live with a cat I'm a gentle giant (big and strong) I love toys and games DOG Cane Corso Black 1 Year (approx) Ref: 5186

Cahir ( born November 2025) is a broken coated female lurcher thought to have terrier, collie and saluki in her heritage. She loves to run and zoom about. Her ideal home would have lots of outside space and dogs to play with. She is has seen nothing outside kennels so will need a patient owner to help her learn about life as a pet and the outside world. Being a puppy, she will need a home with someone around a lot and willing to cope with puppyish behaviour. With careful introductions, we feel she could live with cats. She is microchipped and a non negotiable condition of adoption is that she will be spayed at the appropriate age and this will be overseen. Her name is pronounced ‘Care’ and if this is what you can give her for the rest of her life, please contact us.

German Shepherd crossbreed White 3 Years (approx) Ref: 5408 Apply now ** EXPERIENCED HOMES ONLY AND HAVE A BEHAVIOURIST LINED UP ** Casper is not for the faint hearted and needs an owner who is committed to offering him lifelong support. Introducing curious Casper :) Casper came to us when his previous owner decided that a family setting was too much for Casper to cope with and was causing him distress and making them very upset to see him so uncomfortable with his life. From the very first day Casper arrived with us it was clear that he was terrified of everything but we made a vow to him to help him overcome his fears and he did just that! Casper blossomed every single day and did his very best to please his handlers, we could not be prouder of how far he has come but the day has arrived where he is ready to start his new life. Although Casper is very nervous, he is also very intelligent and once he has a bond with his human, there’s no stopping him! Casper has now graduated to a wonderful foster home which was the next step of his rehabilitation and he is smashing his goals better than we could have expected. Casper knows most basic commands but has so much potential to learn more. He is excellent at agility and may even enjoy flyball or something similar. Casper's biggest hurdle is meeting new people, and he does have a very high prey drive for pretty much anything that moves! This is something his new family will need to be aware of! If there is a cat the other side of the fence, he will attempt to get to it so it is very important that his new garden his safe & secure. To begin with, he will need to be on a lead in the garden at all times. With Casper's high prey drive, his threshold is very low and won't hesitate to try and chase something. However, given his nervous nature, he must be trained in an appropriate way as he is easily scared. There is so much more to learn about Casper so if you are interested in learning more about him then please complete a perfect match form above. I know how to sit (and lots of other commands too!) I'd prefer an adult only household I can be left alone for short periods I may be able to live with another dog I'd prefer not to live with a cat I'm a bright spark I love toys and games DOG German Shepherd crossbreed White 3 Years (approx) Ref: 5408

Congleton Dog Rescue
Young Shar Pei cross needing a stable, experienced home. Excitable but manageable and eager to learn.

Cheshire Sighthound Rescue UK is a registered charity run by a small, dedicated team of trustees with a clear focus on rehoming sighthounds in need. The rescue primarily helps retired racing greyhounds, alongside other sighthounds who have been relinquished due to changes in their owners’ circumstances. Each dog is given care, understanding, and the time needed to transition into home life. With welfare at the heart of everything they do, the charity works to find loving, suitable forever homes where these gentle dogs can thrive.

Congleton Dog Rescue was founded in 2025 by a group of passionate animal lovers determined to give rescue dogs a second chance. What began as a small grassroots fostering effort has already grown into a dedicated rescue operation that has saved over 40 dogs across Cheshire and beyond. Working closely with veterinary clinics, foster families, and community partners, the charity focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible rehoming. Beyond hands-on rescue work, Congleton Dog Rescue is committed to education and advocacy, aiming to create lasting positive change for dogs in the local community. Powered by a growing team of volunteers, the rescue continues to make a meaningful difference, one dog at a time.

North West English Springer Spaniel Rescue (NWESSR) is a registered charity with over 30 years’ experience dedicated to helping English Springer Spaniels in need. Over the decades, the charity has found loving homes for hundreds of Springers who have become homeless for reasons including bereavement, illness, financial hardship, abandonment, or cruelty and neglect. NWESSR takes great care in assessing each dog and matching them with suitable, experienced homes, particularly for dogs who have suffered trauma or whose needs require extra understanding. Recognised by The Kennel Club and listed in the Kennel Club Rescue Directory, the charity works tirelessly to reunite dogs with families where possible or find them new forever homes. Through careful rehoming and ongoing commitment, NWESSR continues to support Springers and the people who adopt them.

Erin Hounds is a registered charity founded in 2008 to rescue, rehabilitate, and responsibly rehome Irish sighthounds in need, while raising awareness of sighthound welfare issues in Ireland. Run entirely by knowledgeable and passionate volunteers, the charity supports greyhounds, lurchers, salukis, and other sighthounds affected by overbreeding, irresponsible ownership, and lack of welfare enforcement in the Republic of Ireland. Erin Hounds works closely with rescuers on the ground near Galway and a dedicated volunteer team in the UK, primarily based in Cheshire. Many of the dogs helped include ex-racing greyhounds, hare coursers, discarded breeding bitches, and abandoned or stray lurchers. By finding loving homes outside Ireland, Erin Hounds offers these dogs a genuine second chance at a safe and happy life.

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was established to support unwanted, abandoned, and neglected German Shepherds, while also educating the public about the responsibilities of owning large working-breed dogs. The charity focuses not only on rescue and rehoming, but on prevention—offering advice and guidance to help reduce the number of dogs entering rescue in the future. GSRE works tirelessly to ensure dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered, with dedicated follow-up support where needed. Supported by a passionate volunteer network, the charity also assists Belgian Shepherd Malinois and Dutch Shepherds, breeds whose complex needs are often misunderstood. As a full member of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) and the EU Dog and Cat Alliance, GSRE is committed to collaboration and the highest standards of animal welfare.

Our Safe Haven Kennels is a UK-based rescue facility opened in 2021 in Nantwich, Cheshire, created to provide a calm and supportive environment for dogs in need. The kennels were established to help dogs who struggled in busy shelter settings, particularly those rescued from overseas, as well as to offer a secure backup space for UK dogs returning to the rescue. Designed with welfare in mind, the centre allows potential adopters to meet dogs by appointment and get to know them properly before adoption. Since opening, Our Safe Haven Kennels has seen rapid growth, rehoming more than 200 dogs in 2023 alone, and continues to expand its role as a vital stepping stone between rescue and a permanent, loving home.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), founded in 1824, is the oldest and largest animal welfare organisation in the world, operating across England and Wales. Funded primarily by voluntary donations, the charity rescues animals from cruelty, investigates neglect and organised animal crime, and provides advice to improve animal welfare. Its network includes rescue teams, animal hospitals, rehabilitation centres and over 150 locally run branches that support rehoming, neutering and community welfare services. Through national and international outreach, the RSPCA works to prevent cruelty and ensure animals receive the care and protection they deserve.

Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW) is a local charity dedicated to putting animals first and supporting responsible pet ownership across Warrington and surrounding areas. The charity was established to provide financial support to pet owners on low incomes or benefits, helping cover the cost of neutering to reduce the number of stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals. Alongside low-cost neutering, WAW raises awareness around microchipping and responsible care, while offering help to rehome pets when owners are no longer able to keep them. By supporting both animals and their owners, Warrington Animal Welfare plays an important role in strengthening and protecting the local community.

The Windyway Trust is a registered charity founded in 2005 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, driven by a shared passion for animal welfare. Its mission is to relieve the suffering of animals in need, supporting the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming work of Windyway Animal Sanctuary for dogs, cats, and other animals. The charity also extends its support to the Search and Rescue dogs of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Teams and runs a local pet food bank to help families keep their beloved pets fed. Funded through charity shops, local events, and generous donations, and powered by dedicated volunteers, the Windyway Trust continues to be a vital lifeline for animals and communities across Cheshire and neighbouring regions.

With dogs coming from a range of backgrounds, adoption in Cheshire prioritises careful assessment to ensure each dog finds a stable and loving home.
