Please read my profile below to find out more.Miss Bailey is a truly special lady with a heart full of love to give. She’s looking for a cosy retirement home where life moves at a gentler pace, with a comfy bed to curl up in and plenty of time for afternoon snoozes.Bailey enjoys her walks and equally loves quiet moments, whether that’s relaxing beside you or soaking up the comfort of being close to her people. She could possibly share her home with another dog who matches her slow and steady way of life however she isn’t keen on sharing her space with cats, but she could live with older children who understand she may need a little time to settle in.Sweet, affectionate and wonderfully cosy, Miss Bailey is ready to spend her golden years by your side.Flat faced (brachycephalic) dogs suffer from additional health problems, which may impact their quality of life. We always recommend anyone thinking about adopting or buying a flat faced (brachycephalic) dog to thoroughly research the breed beforehand. I am a little nervous and can be wary of new people but once I do know you, I am very friendly and affectionate.I can pull and be reactive when I see other dogs. I'm a nervous boy you see and I am struggling in kennels which is making me very stressed when I go outside.A quieter home with lots of time spent feeling safe and secure with my new owner or family. I'm not happy in kennels, I would be more confident in a home environment. An experienced owner who can help me be a little bit braver, take things slowly, walk in quieter areas so I can learn that walks are fun and not scary.I love playing with toys and being brushed."Benji is a handsome and energetic boy who is always ready for fun! Charity No.1162442

Maxi’s Mates began with the rescue of a single dog and grew into a dedicated sanctuary helping local strays in need. After supporting Waterfall Kennels and facing its closure in 2015, the founders chose to build their own rescue, transforming a derelict stable at Carlin Howe Farm in Dunsdale into a safe haven that opened in January 2016. Today, the charity cares for stray, abandoned, and surrendered dogs from Redcar & Cleveland and Hambleton, with 56 kennel spaces supported by a passionate team of staff and volunteers. Some dogs are rehomed quickly, while others need more time, and a few remain for life—but no dog is ever given up on. Whether for weeks or years, every dog has a home at Maxi’s Mates until the right person comes along.
