Alfie

West Midlands
SexMale
Age1 month
BreedUnknown

This beautiful boy is on the search for his forever home. Unfortunately, due to ill health and mobility issues, Alfie’s previous owner had to make the difficult decision to give him up, as they could no longer manage his needs. We have known Alfie for some time, as he has boarded with us in the past, and we know that rehoming him was truly a last resort. He was clearly very loved and cared for.Alfie is an incredibly handsome young boy with a striking appearance and a personality to match. He loves attention and is always happy to make new friends. However, because his previous owner was struggling, Alfie has had little to no formal training. He will need work on basic commands, walking nicely on a lead, recall, and general manners. He is still very much a puppy at heart and is continuing to explore the world around him. Alfie doesn’t quite realise his own size and can be a little over-enthusiastic at times!Alfie is an incredibly friendly and excitable boy who wants to say hello to everyone he meets, people and dogs alike. We are working hard to improve his lead walking and help him manage his excitement, but he will need an owner who understands larger breeds and is committed to continuing his training and development.Alfie's ideal home:An active household that can provide him with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and adventures.Owners with experience of larger breeds and an understanding of their needs.Committed adopters who are willing to put the time and effort into his ongoing training and development. Can live with other dogs, subject to successful meet-and-greets and compatible introductions. With the right guidance, consistency, and plenty of love, Alfie has the potential to become a wonderful companion. He is a loving, affectionate boy who just needs someone willing to invest the time in his training and help him become the best version of himself. In return, you'll gain a loyal, fun-loving, and very handsome best friend for life.

Alfie, a 4 years old male Border Collie available for adoption from Border Collie Trust in Staffordshire

Border Collie Trust

Alfie

Staffordshire
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedBorder Collie

Alfie is a 4 year old entire collie cross. He originally came into our care after his owner was admitted into hospital. He then spent the last year in another home but they felt their environment was too busy for him due to having various visitors which Alfie found difficult and would often bark and lunge until he got to know them. Alfie is a very shy boy but if given time soon warms up to people. He requires a quiet adult home and an owner that is willing to give him the space and time he requires to gain confidence. Everything needs to be done gradually with Alfie so he doesn't feel threatened or get put into situations he find difficult. Alfie is housetrained, is good when left alone for a few hours, travels well, knows some basic commands and is ok around other dogs.

This sweet girl has been quietly making progress and is on the lookout for a forever home!Aliza was adopted as a puppy back in 2021 along with her mum and siblings. She was returned to us in February 2024 and since then has been in kennels she took a while to come round and show her happy side but the team there have done an amazing job with her and she’s ready for the next steps!!Aliza takes a while to warm up to new people. The team at the kennels have worked with Aliza daily and after the initial scary settling in period, she’s done so well accepting new friends. She would like a doggy friend for company, they must be playful as she loves to play! A quieter/not busy household and patient humans who will allow her the time to adjust and relax into home life again.Aliza is a beautiful and sweet girl underneath a lot of anxiety and we want more than anything for Aliza to feel safe againAliza is based in Derbyshire and will need several meets before she goes home. Amira, a 4 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from High Hopes Dog Rescue in West Midlands

High Hopes Dog Rescue

Amira

West Midlands
SexFemale
Age4 years
BreedCrossbreed

Amira, our sweet shepherd mix is desperate for a new life.Sadly she was returned to us initially due to reactivity to other dogs and has spent most of her first summer in kennels rather than the home she deserved. She was adopted again and returned earlier this month after she nipped a visitor to the second homeShe was saved from a kill shelter in Romania and wanting a quiet life for herself with someone that loves her. At home she was a good girl and left some energy for 9pm zoomies!Amira is 4 years old, a sweet and gentle girl. This beautiful scruff is around 57cm tall and has been in the UK since early March, settling in. She enjoys her walks on the lead and a bit of an adventure but she is a home bird and her favourite things are tummy rubs and cuddles at home with the people she loves.Amira can be reactive to other dogs which we believe has come from her history of the shelter. She has previously been around other dogs without issue but the lead seems to trigger her anxieties. She would appreciate a quiet home with few visitors. Just a quiet home to relax in. We think Amira is a mioritic shepherd mix, despite being smaller than your average mio, her wariness of strangers is typical of the breed. If you have room in your heart and home for Amira and would like to apply to adopt her please send us a message. This girl has spent years of her life in awful conditions and to only be able to give her a kennel is heartbreaking she needs to be understood.

Stunning girl Amy….. the first picture shows how she was found as a puppy. We have seen her grow up in Bosnia into the beautiful, happy and sweet dog you see in the rest of the pictures.Amy has waited a long time for a family to call her own. Sadly without available foster space here were unable to take her until we find a suitable place for her, so she has patiently waitedAmy is around 15kg and is a super friendly girl! She loves people and other dogs….. she loves cats too but is very interested in playing with them and probably not the best fit with most cats. Amy is a collector and her favourite game is definitely fetch! She likes to carry things around with her and bring them to youAmy is now 1-2 years old and deserves a chance to be part of a real family - we want to find that for her in 2026

Annie, a 5 years old female Pocket Bully available for adoption from Forest Dog Rescue in West Midlands

Forest Dog Rescue

Annie

West Midlands
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedPocket Bully

Poor Annie was unfortunately returned to us as she was let out the front door and nipped the delivery drivers bottom We know she isn't going to be an easy rehome but we are going to give it our best shot. She is stubborn especially on walks and quite single minded so doesn't need an active home. On the flip side she loves to play especially with squeaky toys and all her energy is put into that instead of exercise! Annie likes to keep her family to herself and would prefer no visitors in her home, although she is a massive foodie and can be bribed but a busy household wouldn't suit this princess. Once you are in her trust circle she will shower you with kisses, licks and tummy tickles with the occasional headbutt if she gets too excited. According to her last owner she wasn't bothered around dogs - we have found she can be 50 / 50 with them so unfortunately a pet free.We don't mean to be negative nellies but we do need to be as honest as we can so that we can find her the right home where someone can give her a real chance. If you think that might be you PLEASE get in touch and request an adoption questionnaire via emailinfo@forest-dog-rescue.org.uk

Adorable April (Aero April) is a sweet 4 year old black girl, looking for her forever family. She can present as nervous at first, but enjoys cuddles once she gets to know you. A petite little lady, April is currently undergoing socialisation testing and is being gradually introduced to the sights, sounds and sniffs of the big wide world. We'll update you on her progress as we learn more about her, but for now, we know April would prefer a quieter household with older or no children. She is sharing a kennel with Champ who has really helped April with her shyness. We think she would make a perfect second hound, with a male, who she can continue to take confidence from. Please get in touch if you would like to meet this gorgeous girl.

Archer, a 2 years old male Unknown available for adoption from HW Animal Rescue in Herefordshire

HW Animal Rescue

Archer

Herefordshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedUnknown

Would you even believe it if we told you that this handsome young man arrived with us as a stray?Found in Herefordshire and not claimed, absolutely their loss we say.Archer is THE most loving and affectionate young lad, he quite literally cannot be close enough to you, if he can’t be leaning on you he has to have his paw on your foot, incredibly loyal and once he loves you he is so eager to please, he stares so lovingly into your eyes waiting for you to give him his next command.Archer knows all his basic training but with a little bit of fizz thrown in, after all he’s still just a big puppy We must mention though, on first meeting strangers he can be fearful and can bark, he shows all the signs of an under socialised pup, we are working hard with this and ensuring new people do not rush up to him and give him time and space to respect his boundaries as he’s building his confidence in new situations. It generally takes Archer a minute or two to realise that people aren’t so scary after all and after that you’ve got a friend for life Archer also shows signs of separation anxiety and we can only assume that this may be part of the reason that he found himself as a stray.Again, we are working on this with lots of positive training. We are looking for an owner/home with experience of managing separation issues, an active lifestyle and someone who can commit to further training and socialisation.A home with another friendly dog can be considered, Archer has not been tested with cats as yet.
