Like name, like nature! This handsome chap is Ace and he’s a 4 year old Frenchie, arriving with us due to no fault of his own. He’s quite a laid back chap – his priorities in life involve food, fuss and a good roll in the grass! He has been good with other dogs here at the centre, but generally prefers a quieter life so would prefer any canine companion to be happy for a little play, but more woah, than go! If you’re a Frenchie lover, then Ace is your perfect companion – why not come and meet

Sex: FemaleAge: 1 year oldSize: Medium sizeBreed: Mixed breedAdele is the one with most white on her, in the pics\n\nIntroducing... adorable Adele!Adele's Story:Adele is a baby at 1 year old and has spent her whole life living in shelters in Romania and at Oakwood Dog Rescue. We had a plea from a volunteer rescuer that had just been at the shelter stating that there were 2 pups there that were completely withdrawing into themselves and were starting to shut down. They were very worried that these 2 babies wouldn't survive the winter as they were already so frail, and temperatures had already dropped to -5 degrees. It usually gets to -20 during their winter months. In the photos, Adele is attached to Beyonce's side. Over time though, these 2 girls have made many new friends and are no longer reliant on each other. They both now kennel share with different dogs and are settled and happy with their groups. Unfortunately, when letting them back together for play dates, it seems that these 2 have really grown apart and no longer enjoy spending time with each other.Adele has never lived in a home before and so would require time, patience, understanding and lots of positive based training to help her learn the ropes of home life.\n\nWith other dogs: Adele loves playing out with the other pups and adult dogs, if she were to live with anotehr dog, they would need to be of similar or larger size than Adele. With cats:Adele is has met a cat whilst in our care. She was off lead and showed no prey drive. Please note - it was a very confident cat that she met so if she were to meet a cat that was skitty and ran, it is likley that she would chase due to a dogs natural instinct to do so.\n\nAdele loves nothing more than running around our fields and yards with all of her doggy friends. She's not ready to come inside a minute before the kennel shift is over. Adele has moderate to high energy levels at present.\n\nAdele has never before lived in a home. She will need to be left for minimal periods to begin with so she can settle in and realise that she is safe. This time alone (with another dog) can be built up so she'd be able to be left up to around 4 hours\n\nAdele is not yet lead trained. She is still very unsure about being handled and so lead training will come once she has built a bond with her new family\n\nAdele has no form of basic training. This will all come in time once she has settled and learnt to fully trust her adopters\n\nClick the button below to start the adoption application process!

Please step forward if you are looking to get a lovely new canine pal for your dog!Lhaso Apso Alfie is only 2, and has missed out on proper training and socialisation. He is much loved by his owner but due to their ill health is bravely making the this decision in Alfie’s best interests. He is a proper sweetheart in the home, housetrained, can be left for reasonable periods, loves people and children. He adores the company of other dogs and has many doggy pals so we would love to find him a home with another resident dog or dogs. But here’s the rub… in his excitement and frustration in seeing unknown dogs he doesn’t know what to do with himself so that is very offputting when people with dogs first see him.We need any potential new owner to be able to take the time to meet him and carefully manage the introduction process with other dogs and have the commitment to further work on his training. We would like a home with a garden, other dog/s, no cats.Families with older, calm, dog savvy children also welcome to apply.Priority will be given to people already homechecked by us, but if you tick all the right boxes for Alfie and need a homecheck please send us an email to enquire about him.

I am a big soft, affectionate lad and I enjoy a lovely cuddleI walk lovely on the lead and I don’t pull very often despite my sizeI do need a single person’s home because I do bond so much with the one person. I want a very best friend and somebody to spend the rest of my life with. I also always like to be with them so I wouldn’t like somebody that left me for long periods of time.A single male Owner would be perfect for me.I love company and I like to follow my special person around and just chill out with themAlpha is such a nice big gentle boy. He is a little lost at the moment because his Owner died. He is looking for another best friend that he can spend all his time with. He walks, lovely despite the fact that he could pull. He loves treats but more than anything he loves the person that he bonds with.

Sex: FemaleAge: 4 years oldSize: LargeBreed: Mixed breed\n\nAmber's Story:We don't know much hisory about Amber other than she was rescued from a public shelter in Romania. When we agreed to her, we were told that she has a best from called Roxy and they've been giving each other so much confidence and so they travlled together.Amber can be very timid, and sometimes quite vocal, if she doesn't know you but she warms up quickly and has amazing potential to be a great dog for a home with no younger kids.\n\nWith other dogs: We've not yet done a huge amount of dog mixing with Amber as of yet, but from what we've seen, she can be quite dog selective. She loves her bestie Roxy but even then, they've had a couple of squabbles started by Amber. We would consider Amber living with another dog but it would be based on the right match. The dog would need to be large in size, definately no smaller than her. With cats:Amber has not been cat tested. She's not yet comfortable on a collar and lead and so it wouldn't be safe to cat test her at this time.\n\nAmber is an active girl, she loves been out in the fields playing with her friends. When she's lead trained, we think she's going to love some long hikes.\n\nAmber has never been in a home and so any time alone would need to be slowly built up over time.\n\nAmber does accept a collar / harness and lead. She is showing great potential, she just needs her confidence building.\n\nAmber has no form of basic training.\n\nClick the button below to start the adoption application process!

WELCOME THE ADORABLE FIZZ. ONE BABY GIRL STAFFY CROSS LURCHER MIX.This beautiful young lady is now called Fizz. Fizz has come into our care from a Yorkshire stray kennels. She is adorable, very sweet natured and just a baby of approx eight months. Fizz has been health checked by our vets as a priority and started her vaccinations. She is now microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and just about ready to find the love of her life. Is that you? She has passed a full health check and adores being cuddled and fussed by everyone that crosses her path. Fizz is dog friendly, adores attention and could possibly live with a kind natured male dog that is neutered. She adores Dennis at the kennels. Fizz is amazing despite a cruel abandonment and a short stint in the stray kennels. She has already made incredible progress in our care and despite being very young she is calm and will lay down quietly after a fuss and her walk. She is extremely friendly, very very pretty and deserves a new start as soon as possible. Please read below to see what sort of home Fizz needs.WHAT HOME DOES FIZZ NEED? PLEASE SUPPORT.Fizz needs a dedicated and very loving home. She will need energy burn offs, an enclosed garden and someone who loves to go walking. She is extremely friendly and could possibly live with another dog that is very good natured. Fizz is possibly a mixed breed and a lurcher combination. We are now searching for a new home for Fizz where she will have plenty of company. Due to her young age we feel she needs extra time with humans during the day. Being left as lonely dogs is definitely not suitable for very young dogs and puppies. They need extra mental stimulation and energy burn offs. Company, guidance and extra training is all part of owning a young dog. We ensure she finds her perfect love match. Fizz would make a great family dog with older children as she is very affectionate and sweet in many ways. If you would love to meet this sweet girl and adore Lurchers then please complete an application by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page. Ourselves and Fizz would love to hear from you. Let's not leave this baby waiting in kennels. We thank people for their patience and kind words of support. Age11 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

INTRODUCING ONE LUCKY YOUNG MAN NOW NAMED MORRIS. WELCOME ANOTHER SAD STAFFY CROSS.Morris came into our care on 24th December 2025 from a Yorkshire stray kennels. Through no fault of his own and a shocking sad fact in todays society this youngster was booked into to be put to sleep. Morris has not done anything wrong except be born into what some may say the wrong skin. This loving and very friendly dog is a Staffy cross. He is approximately ten months old and was abandoned and unwanted. He is adorable and loves cuddles and human contact. He is extremely playful, full of joy and has a spice for life as any pup would oen. We welcome him with open arms and a very big heart along with so many of our other dogs who sadly were all in the same dilemma. Morris has been health check by our vets and is now embarking on a new lease of life. He is learning to enjoy the outside world and we are working on his lead training. Although Morris barks initially at other dogs in excitement once introduced he has been amazing and his instant excitement is defused. He loves to play and has recently been out walking with Shellie who also found herself with an uncertain future at the stray kennels due to being another Staffy cross. Morris is beautiful, a real sweetheart baby and has so much to live for. Please read below to find our what sort of home our new delicious young man requires. We welcome support and adoption enquiries. All our dogs are loving and friendly and deserve to find true rescue adopters.WHAT HOME DOES BEAUTIFUL MORRIS NEED?Morris is now looking for a much need new start with someone that adores Staffies and cross breed Staffies. Experience of owning a dog would be beneficial. This boy will warm your heart and soul. Due to being a pup Morris will need more training and guidance as he grows. He adores people and is very puppy like so more training will be needed over the next few months. This handsome chap knows all his basic commands and we feel with the right committed human he will blossom even more. He has already shown he has love and loyalty to give and the ability to learn quickly. Morris could potentially live with a very good natured female spayed dog. We would consider rehoming him within a family home with older children only. A home where someone can offer company is essential. Very young dogs easily become bored so it is important that time is given to Morris and he knows he is not alone. If you work long hours and would leave Morris or any of our young dogs for long periods then this would not be suitable. Morris is gorgeous in every way. We are overjoyed that Morris found a lifeline at our charity on the eleventh hour. Morris is adorable and has everything to live for and so much to offer. His life could of ended on 24th December and we are blessed to have him in our care. Please consider the strays of Yorkshire. It is important we match our dogs with people lifestyles. We help a huge amount of stray dogs from Yorkshire pounds. Anyone wishing to discuss any dogs or needing more information about our charity and the work we do then please telephone for an informal chat or email us via our adopt button on this page with details about yourself and the dog you are enquiring about. Lifestyle details are important when considering adoption. All our rescue dogs have different needs. Good Life Dog Rescue exists without staff and few dedicated, passionate volunteers. Please support through adoption. We have a huge volume of dogs now in our care and welcome interest.PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM WITH ESSENTIAL DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF BY CLICKING ON THE ADOPT ME BUTTON. PLEASE READ THE DETAILS ABOVE ABOUT THE HOME THESE DOGS NEED BEFORE APPLYING. HOME CHECKS AND VET REFERENCES IF POSSIBLE ARE NEEDED PRIOR ANY ADOPTION OF OUR RESCUE DOGS. THANK YOU.
