BreedAkita

American Akita crossbreed White and black 9 Years (approx) Ref: 198/26 AJ is a beautiful Akita cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came into our care due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. Since arriving at the centre, he has shown himself to be a sensitive and sometimes nervous boy, but with time, patience, and reassurance, his confidence has grown and he has made lots of friends along the way. AJ can be very nervous around children, so we feel he would be best suited to an adultonly home where he can feel safe and secure. While AJ has made dog friends at the centre, we believe he would thrive most as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy all the love, attention, and spoiling for himself. Beneath his shy exterior is a truly affectionate and lovable character looking for a calm, relaxed home. He would love a family who can take him on adventures during the day before settling down for cuddles together on the sofa in the evening. I know how to sit (and lots of other commands too!) I'd prefer an adult only household I need teaching that it's ok to be alone I get on well with many other dogs I'd prefer to be the only animal in a home I'm young at heart I love fuss and attention DOG American Akita crossbreed White and black 9 Years (approx) Ref: 198/26

Colour: TanLocation: New Romney Alan is an incredibly nervous boy who needs an adult only home with someone who can help him work through his anxieties. When he feels safe, he can be incredibly affectionate and cuddly but will bite if he feels scared. Alan is very hit and miss with other dogs and can be reactive on lead and so would benefit greatly from being the only pet in the property, this also includes cats. He does struggle with separation anxiety therefore Alan is looking for somewhere where someone is around most of the time to help him feel more safe and secure. With patience, understanding and plenty of love he will make a wonderful companion.

Albie, a 2 years old male Unknown available for adoption from A New Leash For Life in Hampshire

A New Leash For Life

Albie

Hampshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedUnknown

At just 13 months old, Albie has already come so far on his journey and is now ready to find the loving family he deserves. Albie is a medium-sized, neutered mixed-breed boy who came into foster care in February. When he first arrived, he was terrified of people and found any kind of touch frightening. He would run away and hide, taking comfort from following his foster family's resident dog, who became his guide and source of reassurance. Happiness didn't seem to come easily to him. Fast forward a few months, and Albie is blossoming into the most wonderful young dog. Now, when his family comes downstairs in the morning or arrives home, he greets them with the sweetest wiggly bum and wagging tail. He actively seeks out affection, enjoys cuddles, and will happily roll over for a tummy rub when he's feeling relaxed and confident. Albie has worked incredibly hard to build trust and confidence. He has learned to sit patiently and wait for his food and treats, and he would love a family who will continue his training and help him discover just how much the world has to offer. One of Albie's favourite things is spending time with his foster family's children. He loves to play chase games, gets excited when they come home from school, and enjoys being part of the family routine. While he's waiting for playtime, you'll often find him having fun with the resident dog or following their lead. Because of his gentle and sensitive nature, Albie is looking for a home with experienced owners who understand nervous dogs and are willing to give him the time, patience, and encouragement he needs. He absolutely thrives alongside other dogs and gains huge confidence from them, so a resident dog is essential for him. Albie is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and has happily interacted with visiting dogs. He is submissive rather than dominant and simply wants to make friends and play. Although Albie has not yet ventured out on regular walks, he is ready to start exploring the world at his own pace. Initially, he would benefit from spending time in a secure enclosed area where he can build confidence outdoors safely. Albie's story could have been very different. Before coming into foster care, he was living in an overcrowded public shelter where every day was filled with fear and uncertainty. Watching him discover that life can be fun, safe, and full of love has been truly special. Now all that's missing is a forever family to continue that journey. ️ Could you be the person to give Albie the amazing future he's been waiting for? Albie's ideal home: Young child-free home Secure enclosed garden required Experience of nervous or fearful dogs Dog and cat friendly Resident dog(s) essential to help build his confidence In foster in Hampshire Albie really is a very special boy, and whoever adopts him will have the privilege of watching him continue to grow into the happy, confident dog he was always meant to be.

She has made a full recovery and is a fabulous older dog.Ruby arrived with a concerning breathing problem - we soon realised it was likely to be laryngeal paralysis. Angel, a 4 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Fetcher Dog in Kent

Angel

Kent

Age4 years
BreedCrossbreed

Angel came to us from a pound in the U.K. We believe she had been used for breeding and then dumped when she was no longer of use. Based on the photos that we saw of Angel before her arrival, we knew she would need some veterinary assessment on her legs and these have since been completed. Angel is a pocket bully and poor breeding has lead to some deformities in her limbs. Her x-rays do show curvature of the bones in her front legs but no other issues such as arthritis were detected. Angel needs to gain some strength and stamina as it is clear she has not been used to a lot of exercise and it will be important for her future adopter to keep her at a healthy weight but the vets have said that there is nothing to currently worry about with her health.Angel came in and was immediately the sweetest dog. She is extremely affectionate and loves to sit on our laps for cuddles and affection. She does like to wander around our fields and do lots of sniffing but does end up coming back and joining us for cuddles. She is food motivated which will help with training. Angel has been good with the other dogs at the centre but can be quite excited to meet new dogs so will need to learn to stay calm.We do not know if Angel has ever had a proper home life so she will need full training upon adoption.

Annie, a 6 months old female Unknown available for adoption from A New Leash For Life in Hampshire

A New Leash For Life

Annie

Hampshire
SexFemale
Age6 months
BreedUnknown

Annie is a 6-month-old sweetheart who is continuing to grow in confidence every single day. She is a gentle, thoughtful young pup who is slowly learning that the world is a safe and happy place. Since arriving in foster care, Annie has made lovely progress and is now showing her affectionate, playful side more and more. She adores her walks and is walking well on the lead. She is becoming increasingly comfortable with everyday sights and sounds, including traffic, and will happily greet other dogs and their humans with a polite sniff and a gentle tail wag. Annie is a bright little girl who is doing really well with her training. She is confident with “sit,” “down,” and “spin,” and is currently learning “wait” and “paw.” She is very food motivated and already shows excellent manners, sitting and waiting calmly for her meals and allowing gentle handling even while she is eating. One of the biggest changes in Annie’s progress has been her growing confidence with people and other animals. She is now enjoying the company of her foster dog sibling and loves to play with him—having another dog around has clearly helped her come out of her shell and feel more secure. She is also slowly building trust with her foster family’s 8-year-old son. Where she once kept her distance, she is now choosing to approach for gentle strokes. While she is still unsure when he runs around, she is continuing to learn and improve with time, patience, and calm experiences. Annie is also very respectful of the household rabbit, offering a gentle sniff before backing away when asked, showing her soft and responsive nature. At home, Annie is a calm and affectionate companion. She enjoys snuggling up on the sofa with both her humans and doggy friend and is very settled in the home environment. She now sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate, settling after a short period of whining, and is fully house trained—alerting when she needs to go outside. ️ Annie’s lovely qualities: Gentle, sweet-natured and affectionate Walking well on the lead House trained and reliable Crate trained and settling well overnight Great with other dogs (thrives with canine companionship) Cat/rabbit aware and respectful Loves cuddles and sofa time Very food motivated and eager to learn Ideal home for Annie: Calm, quiet household Patient adopters willing to continue her confidence building Another friendly resident dog preferred Gentle, dog-savvy children considered (calm interactions best) In foster in Portsmouth Annie is a truly lovely young dog who is still finding her feet in the world. With patience, reassurance, and a stable home, she is going to continue blossoming into a confident, loving companion. ️ Could you be the family to help Annie continue her journey and give her the forever home she deserves?
